Yeah, the new HNIC theme was a really great opening song. It had really grown on me. This garbage is like the dozen or so bland, generic themes you hear in the States for all of their major sports. Stupid decision.

I like this theme, it's just the theme we've been listening to on regional Flames broadcasts for years, just a bit more dynamic now.
Flames were never in the playoffs or on CBC so I didn't really care for that theme.

Don Cherry making great points about veterans. We don't do enough in this country to help them out. I would gladly welcome a Veterans tax or something of the sort where 1% or so of every pay cheque goes towards our veterans. They help protect us and sacrifice everything yet we mostly ignore them when they come back from their battle.

Cherry was bang on. I'm glad he said it because it made me realize i'm at fault here.
I ordered copies of that fantastic Halifax Chronicle Herald cartoon from October 23rd, but until Cherry made his point I didn't realize that I hadn't put a nickle towards Patrice's family, or Nathan's family or any injured soldiers. It's the right thing to do and i'll be doing it.

And this right here is the difference between Canada and America. A plea like that would have been ignored down here. Veteran Affairs is a disaster here.

Except the plea in America has been going on since Vietnam. Pretty much no response from the most patriotic nation on earth (except North Korea  ).
