The D corp would have to be mighty depleted for him to make the NHL this year. He isn't as bad as I thought he was going to be after all the missed time and development, but he's not close to NHL ready.

Wow do I hope this means they will be trying to get Elliott off waivers. That would be such a steal.

Disagree. He might spend sometime down there but you don't get adjusted to playing an NHL game by playing an AHL game...
You could argue he has been as good as any player so far this preseason, rookie or not, and his defensive play hasn't been bad. No way does that keep him down in the AHL for "most of the season"...

Did that summary say that Bennett has an injury that is day to day?

That's what it sounds like to me. Hopefully that is the case.

What happens if we stink enough to get Eichel, what we do with all these centers we suddenly are blessed with. Mono line 1, Bennett line 2, Eichel Line 3. Backlund, Colborne Traded or moved to wing, Granlund ?

Hmm well that sucks. That sounds like code for injury.

He didn't seem worried. Said something earlier about these were all "soft tissue injuries" and that because it's preseason they didn't want them lingering all season

That would depend on how he does during the first 10 or so games at the start of the season.

Treliving wasn't really saying anything groundbreaking as it's pretty common with any young player who was the key guy to look a little "lost" at times without the puck. As he learns the system, and learns when to take the smart risk he'll become a better player.
As fans we see a kid all over the ice trying to make things happen. And it's exciting. However coaches watch the games and see potential breakdowns that better players will be able to exploit.

Sureloss, the format of your great summary reminded me of stanzas, and therefore, I read it in my head like a poem. It was beautiful.

Seriously, where would this place be without Sureloss.
Thanks a million for the summary.

Thanks for the summary sureloss, if you weren't part of this forum, most of us (myself included) would barely know what's going on with the team.
I think Treliving's sentiment re: Gaudreau is pretty reasonable, making a nice defensive takeaway =/= knowing what to do without the puck. Doesn't mean he's going down for sure, but I'd still be incredibly surprised if he stays up.

Stefan Elliott was put on waivers by Colorado, so I'm guessing him.
