Too bad the guy is using the wrong tool to finish the concrete.
Find some old Italians to do your driveway... It'll probably be done correctly.

how do you figure?
they've done my driveway, my sidewalks (in 2006 and are still great) and patio, and my garage pad(which survived the previous garage burning down)
the main finisher has been doing this 40 years

Using steel tools like that guy is using on the pole, can cause the concrete surface to lose its air which might affect the surface over time. It might flake away, it might not. You're just not supposed to use steel on air entrained concrete. Magnesium tools are what you should use.

btw a steel trowel and a magnesium trowel are used when finishing cement.. magnesium or wood is used FIRST to float, and then a steel trowel is used for finishing.
Troweling is done in the final stages of finishing and only after the surface has been floated.
in my pics they are already doing the cuts the floating is done.
again, you are wrong.

I'm not going to get into a big argument with you; it just doesn't matter. Your finished concrete stuff looked good...at least I think so until you took the pictures down.
I've got 10 years of finishing experience myself, plus I've worked at a concrete plant surrounded by smart people who know about concrete. One thing I've learned, is that all finishers think they're extremely smart and knowledgeable and often they aren't. Old farts set in their ways.
Using steel on air entrained concrete has its risks.
Google "air entrained concrete steel" and click the second link, it's a PDF
