I think like at least a dozen of us predicted something like this would happen.
A handful - myself included - guessed it would be during a practice. Figures...

I wouldn't say he's made of glass just yet.
I haven't seen him shying away from any physical play and he's been fine.
Nasty hits to the head will affect any player regardless of size, toughness, etc.

Honestly, somehow I completely skipped over the Smid injury. After I read your post I had to go back to the OP to figure out what you were even talking about. Sucks to hear. Hopefully he's good to go for the opener

Does smid have any teeth left?
He wasn't exactly sporting a sparkling grill to start with.

How exactly does one "narrowly miss" a staph infection?? Ducked behind a wall as it came walking by?

Was really disappointed in Grats and Bollig for not doing anything there. Is there a better time to send a message than during a meaningless exhibition games that you don't touch our skill?
If they aren't going to enforce then what's the point of having them?

None of the D prospects have overwhelmed so far but I would guess Wotherspoon or Ramage are the most ready.

9 injured #Flames on 45 man roster that remains. Crazy.
|
Bad news for Granlund. Good news for Bennett? (Depending also on Backlund)

Great news for Gaudreau. Shift Raymond to the right (when actually healthy) and slot Johnny in the top 9.

So how did he narrowly miss having one then?
Edit: So you're saying he narrowly missed a staph infection by having one? Logic!

I'm no doctor, so I don't know how a tooth infection can progress into a staph infection.

Local colonization of tissue versus a systemic infection. There, is everyone happy now? Moving on…

When did the hit on Granlund happen? I don't remember seeing it. And who threw it?

Second period, before his penalty. Believe it was Tanev (but not sure)

Staph is just the type of bacteria involved. He either did it didn't have a staph infection. Not sure how you "narrowly miss" having it
