May I suggest, buying yourself a great chair to go with it.

I work from home a couple times a week, and bought a Herman Miller - Aeron. Considering how many hours I sit in this thing, it may honestly be my best purchase ever.

agreed. Spending the money on a good chair pays off so well.

And - because you're going to be dumping several hundred dollars into the chair - see if the company will give you two or three sample chairs to try out for a few weeks before you buy. THey probably won't match, but don't be afraid to ask.

Appreciate the feedback.
A couple other chairs to check out. Humanscale Freedom and Steelcase Leap. After trying all three (these two plus the Aeron), I found the Leap was the most comfortable for me, the Aeron a close second, and the Freedom a distant third. I've seen the Leap on Kijiji from time to time for aorund $150.

I have to say, though, that a few years later the Herman Miller Embody came out and I had a chance to sit in it. It was by far the best chair I had tried. Wish I had a spare $1200 for one...

I work out of my home, but I just got good quality used office furniture - except for my chair. I went the extra mile and got a Herman Millar Aeron chair. I've used it for close to 20 years now (working anywhere from 60 to 80 hours per week sitting in that chair) - it is super comfortable and it's still in excellent condition and is worth every cent that I paid for it.

My Aeron chair is really good, but it's squeak and makes a lot of noise. Good investment though, as most of my back issues are gone.

OK..ok...The Aeron chair came out in 1992. There are many better chairs on the market now. I had three of them...sold them all. If you insist on an Aeron I can giver you a name to contact at the Herman Miller dealership.

As much as I do agree that people should buy a good chair I would spend my money on a height adjustable desk so that you are not sitting for long periods of time. you have many health benefits by going this way.

If you are going to buy a good task chair make sure it has a adjustable seat pan. This is especially important for people with long legs. The lumbar support is another thing all together. Each manufacturer tends to treat it a bit differently. The one thing I would recommend is that you set it lower on your back. Most people have is set too high and it really isn't effective then.

Some other chairs you might want to consider:

http://www.haworth.com/home/seating/task/zody-task

http://www.steelcase.com/en/products.../overview.aspx

http://www.humanscale.com/products/p...irWithHeadrest

The best advice I can give is to go and sit in each of the chairs. What some people find comfortable, others don't.
