This I agree with. As a previous iPhone user and now having gone to Android for quite some time, I'm starting to get interested again in iPhone because Apple has made changes that I think are for the better. Now, with an iPhone, you can get a 5.5" display, widgets and third party keyboards. Now if the build of the iPhone is as good or better than previous versions and these things come along with it, I might take a look again.
The main reason why I left iPhone was the fact you could do more with Android. I like customizable things. Widgets, a bigger display and third party keyboards? Maybe I'll check out iPhone again...who knows.

For me what drives me nuts about apple sheep is that if apple does it its awesome, if its someone else it its a useless feature.
Screen size was always perfect with apple and you didn't want to go to big. Now 4.7 and 5.5 aren't to big.
For me though now that apple has fixed screen size it is worth looking at their phones again.

I keep on reading how Apple users say "it all works together." Like how the eco-system interact and sync. Like for some reason Android can't. Yes it can, and yes it does.
I save my documents to Drive and can access them from my OnePlus One, Nexus 7 and Chrome browsers. I can access my Google Play Music subscription from any of my devices.
This syncing has been available for a long time now.

It's half the price and there is a whole thread of people that have them in the tech forum. If you want an invite people given them away there pretty quickly.

To me the idea of shutting down all the lights in my house, turning on the dishwasher, A/C unit, and sprinkler system from half way around the globe is what I am eagerly waiting for.

You can carry a USB stick with all your documents too but that is completely different from what anyone is talking about when they say eco-system though. Yeah, I have dropbox too, but that's I don't think that's what pylon was referring to.
The way one can stream from any OSX or iOS device onto any apple TV or airplay device is fantastic and so simple my mother can usually figure it out. Any of my music or playlists on iTunes Match I can listen to at my buddy's place in about 30 seconds.
With iOS8 and the new OSX, I can now text right from my mac (which I could only formerly do with other iMessage users, and now, it's straight SMS). No secondary programs, no dinking around with drivers or buggy software that may work on a Sony laptop but not a Toshiba.
There's a lot of things I dislike with Apple, and a lot of people don't like being tied into said ecosystem for whatever reason, but for me it's certainly the reason I'll stick with them.

See, I can do all those things with Android, text, sync, steam, turn my lights on, listen to music etc, etc. I've done it for years with Linux, Mac, Windows, Samsung, LG. Don't make it seem like something it its not. It's the very reason you get made fun of. It just works. So does android, and it works with a lot more and it works quit well.
It's a good damn phone, if you need it to feel like a baller knock your self out but don't make it more than it is.
Somebody compared it to a hyundai to a Mercedes. I compare to a hyundai to a hyundai but one has the crappy chrome package so everybody thinks it has that premium feel.
I'm not a fan boy one way or another. I tell people invested in apple to stick with it, you gain nothing by switching over now. I prefer android, I'm smart enough to load programs to make it do what I want it to do. Years before anyone else does it. I don't need it done for me and then proclaim it's the bees knees or the best thing since sliced bread.
The arguments on both sides are old and tired. Apple is behind, trying to catch up to android, this release is painfully obvious of that. But now one or the other has to do something different, win for us the end user. Technology keeps getting pushed forward.

In my experience people go from iphone to andriod but rarely vis versa.
I used a iphone for 3 months last year and never liked it before going back to my android. And even after apple was trying to highjack my texts in imessage.

Both your 'full resolution' and 5 megapixel photo are oversampled, actually. The sensor itself is 41MP, but the maximum size you'll see out of the camera is 34MP for 16:9 shots, and 38MP for 4:3 shots.
Keep in mind that, if you're serious about photography, that the 1020 will output in DNG raw format. I don't think the iPhone 6/6+ does that.

Why does anyone ever care about another persons phone?
How incredibly childish. What an immensely ridiculous first world problem.

I don't. But I enjoy talking about the differences and new features etc of each has device. That seems lost on some posters who take criticism of their new iDevice personally.

I can't really explain it very well, but to me it was well worth waiting in line 4 days to get the new iPhone 6. It has changed my life.

That's exactly it. OS preference itself, and the features they have, are personal preference but a lot of times Apple fans take things personally or they even start mocking other people's choices without even being bothered to take a look at non-Apple products and will insist that Apple has absolutely nothing to learn from other companies.
Apple's marketing department, all the way from the top down (Tim Cook and Steve Jobs), is really at fault in this by actively trying to create and perpetuate a large, ignorant and aggressive fan base. "Look at your giant phablet brick phones and how they don't fit perfectly in your hand like the perfect iPhone. Apple is much better at making bold risk-taking innovative moves"... releases phablet, "iMaps will be superior to Google maps"... it navigates people into an Australian outback desert death trap: it's user error even though official workaround is Google maps, "Google web security is lacking and personal data is not being protected"... iCloud just got hacked and only recently implemented two factor authentication. These are just recent examples.
It's the type of arrogance and ignorance that gets thrown around a lot. OS preference, fine. One OS works better than the other at some things, sure... but don't take things personally when ignorant statements get thrown around and non-fans respond to correct it.

I use an iPad and an android phone. My biggest beef with the iPad was its lack of compatibility and how it tries to force you into other apple products. With my android phone I can just plug it into any computer and drag and drop files. With my iPad it just doesn't work. I have download iTunes, get an iTunes account, etc. Well I use Linux on my computer and there's no iTunes.

Hell, even your thread title shows a real ignorance about any device outside an Apple product, Chill Crosby.
