Great jersey from their early 90s Lemiux/Jagr Stanley Cup era. I think it's fantastic.

Pittsburgh gets a new 3rd jersey every other year and we can't hope to replace our hideous 3rds anytime soon?

Reminds me a lot of the Boston Bruins' jerseys. Not sure they want to look too similar to a rival.

I like it. Agreed that the jersey tail looks silly, but that could be said of pretty much every team since the Edge design came in. Just glad to see them go back to yellow and away from gold.
When you're one of the few cities where all its sports teams have the same colour combo, don't deviate from the course and get fancy with "strip club gold", as another CP'er called it.

I know our current third isn't too popular, but no way it's worse than the Islanders or Sabres thirds.

Love it. I get a lot of people's reaction that it isn't the prettiest, but ANY push back to gold and away from their horrible current jerseys is quite welcome.

That video is super lame. But the jersey is great I like it. More bold than their chrome sparkly ones. Thumbs up.

I love the jersey. That and a white one like it should be the norm.
The song playing in the video is a piece from a live version of NIN beside you in time. Great tune.

Incredible.
Those are Lemieux heyday era jerseys, what's not to love.
It is funny that virtually every single retro 'original' style jersey, looks miles better than their modern equivalents. I am all for change and progress in things, but somehow, when it comes to hockey uniforms, the classic stuff just looks miles better. It's kinda like watches. 40-50 year old classic Omega and Rolex designs still sell better than anything new they try and release, as they were so beautifully done from the start, and are damn near perfect.

Agreed. I just don't think it goes well with a horizontal stripe. It makes it look like an apron.

they should have changed to these designs but keep the darker / dustier gold colour vs. the brighter yellow. Then make them home and reverse em for aways and call it a day.

Do people who like this like it because of the actual design, or because it's retro? If this was a totally new design and not a retro design, I imagine people would be making fun of it for how cartoony it looks and the ugly patterns. Really, is this pattern any worse than the ugly Buffalo 3rd jersey?
