They do not accept money from outside the church except when they sue the government.

I suggest reading through this thread. done by the nephew of fred phelps and is now an ex member. he shines light on their motives and thinking. the only way to get rid of them, is by understanding them.

And there's the difference between religion and faith in the God of the Bible. The Bible teaches that salvation is a free gift that can not be earned, where as in every other religion, salvation(or whatever they aspire to) is earned through works, deeds, and sacrifices. The verse in Ephesians 2:8 says it quite clearly: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God." Evidently the members at WBC haven't read that passage in awhile... or ever.
