Anthony Cook is one of the things that gets me through these hot summers.

Those videos are invaluable on a hot sweaty summer's night.

If you don't have AC at least get a ceiling fan as that helps.
Ceiling fans work great, but a lot of people don't use them to their fullest capabilities.

We are renting this summer as we sold our house before our new one was ready. We bought window A/Cs to get us through; and my wife's complaint at first was the noise from the A/C. Now that she is used to it- the noise doesn't bother us any more. I set mine so the fan runs non-stop; so there isn't a significant change in the noise level as it cycles.

So the ceiling fans aren't working out for you, troutman?

Told ya you should have just jumped straight to AC

Any by AC, I mean the cooling variety and not our local videologist.

I still stand by this.

This is the first summer where that hasn't really been true.

The only thing worse than the windchill is the Humidex. It doesn't feel like 40 outside. It feels like 31 awith a little humidity always has.

Have fun with that.

In Abbotsford today it's about 24 degrees and cloudy after two weeks of consistent 35, 36 degree humidex.

I found out a quick, but unpleasant temporary solution. Before bed, have a warm shower. It raises your body temperature so the air in your bedroom seems cooler.

I'm in a new place - not nearly as hot as the condo with the ceiling fans.

It has only been uncomfortable a half-dozen times this summer.

I could sleep in the basement if it got any worse.

Yeah, give Ontario it's summer back!

This summer has reminded me of when I lived in Calgary. We have had exactly two days reach 30. The humidex hasn't gone above 36 once.

Crazy weather patterns all over the place.

It was 11 degrees this morning, it had dropped to 9. The current temp is 15 and the high, which I doubt we see is 18. That is mid to late October weather here. It is mid August. You usually can't move without sweating at this time of year.

I should specify that is for Saskatoon, not Calgary.

Heat warning all across the Prairies today.

I moved downtown after enduring Mission for many years. Forget everything else that a big city has to offer, the weather difference alone is my favorite thing. When I go back to the valley, that thick, dead heat almost knocks me over.

My office has huge windows, I finally installed AC at my office. So now I have AC at my house, in my car and at my office. Life is good indeed.
