in no particular order
1.ramage - couldn't keep his spot on the AHL team.
2.roy - good size, good shot, needs some time
3.van Brabant - very physical but can make plays and isn't in awe of the NHL
4.jooris - why Feaster convinced him to leave college, I don't know
5. Gilmour - too small
6.harrison - looked strong last summer but sat out many college games
7. Carroll - you never know
8.deblouw - looked like a healthy college scratch in many games, regressed
9.acolaste - San Jose gave up on him
10.elson - ?
11.cundari - small when we are looking for size but has a shot at the 7th NHL spot but I don't see a big future
12. Billins - gone to KHL maybe to never return
13.thiessen - 28 year old AHL backup
Culkin - has made nice progress and looks to have a future. add him to Roy and van Brabant as legitimate prospects

Some answers...
Jooris - He looked quite good at times last year, needs more consistency and he'll be a solid bottom 6 forward.
Acolatse - SJ gave up on him cuz of injuries otherwise he skates, hits and has some skill and can play D. If he stays healthy he wins #7 D spot.
Roy - His defensive game already has big holes, he needs to move to forward.

I've heard that said by one iffy poster who thinks he's a scout and now it's become a thing but I don't see it. From what I've heard he's been working on his defensive game. We'll see come training camp. He could have to wait for a contract and go back to junior as Culkin did as he's a late birthday but to say he needs to move to forward is a little early and melodramatic.

Roy plays some awful D but he's 19 and has the physical tools. With time he could become a very good defenceman. Brodie did not play very good D in junior. I think we just have to wait on him. He has the highest upside on anyone left

Kind of surprised that Deblouw isn't on the bottom of some of the people's lists.
Had a horrible season and declined to come to development camp.
IMO signs that pro hockey is not in his plans any longer.

Might need a do-over on this poll…lots of votes for Culkin who was selected in an earlier round.

I'm randomly voting for prospects who got zero votes in the previous round.

Deblouw should be dead last on all lists.

Kinda reflects the intelligence of the voters, no? We could probably insert a player who's not even a Flames prospect at this point and see some interesting results.
Actually, every good poll should have a negative and positive control to weed out the half ass Flames fans who get a warm fuzzy feeling about a prospect. Compared to those who actually follow Flames prospects at least somewhat.

Although I copied and pasted another list because of laziness, I said mine was in random order and here's what I said about deBlouw

so that would put him at the bottom of most lists. Billins has to be near the bottom as well, not because he isn't any good just that he's gone to the KHL and I don't think it was because of a dispute like it was with Giordano. He's just changed his career path and it no longer includes the NHL.

How can you say that?
DeBlouw will never get a pro contract which at least Elson has.
Thiessen, although slotted in as an AHL back up has appeared in 5 NHL games and has put up some good stats along the way.

Or he might lose this one outright to Van Brabant. I wonder if he should drop in the rankings if that happens.

Stop?
And quite frankly, this is one of the best fan based sites I've ever been to, so I don't think we need a "weeder" for polls. I would be careful not to disparage what is a very intelligent fan base. Even if I don't agree with everyone's opinions, they are well thought out and full of insight and forethought. Not sure I would say the same for you so far…

Yeah CalgaryPuck was the best internet discovery of 2013 for me.
I was stuck with FlamesNation and HF when it came to Flames discussion. Commenters in FN annoy me (plus a non-forum format sucks) and HF Flames doesn't have a lot of traffic, so when I saw some disparaging comment on CP I came and checked it out, rest is history. I'm just disappointed I didn't find it earlier as to follow along with everyone else for the 2013 draft.
