Bouma should wear a letter soon. Heart and soul player, well-liked by teammates. I can see Backlund or Reinhart doing so as well. Maybe not the C, but all of them have the qualities that a good on-ice leader has.

Reinhart should probably make the NHL full time before he gets a letter.

Why don't you see Giordano going anywhere?
He hasn't been in a playoff game since his rookie season and he's turning 31 this year.
Do you think he will realistically want to stick around through the rebuild? He will have a chance to go to a contender at the trade deadline in about a year and a half.

Maybe... But the guy accepted the 'C' knowing that the Flames were going to a rebuild. Lets keep in mind the guy is only 31.

Monahan. He's already being a leader off the ice too, doing a bunch of events and PR with Gio. And while Bennett has that fearless and relentless drive that certainly merits a captaincy, I just feel like Monahan is more of a leader in terms of his personality.
Sean just seems to be the kind of leader that can bring the most out of his teammates & knowing what buttons to push whereas Sam is a lead by example type of leader. So I see Monahan with the C, Bennett & Backlund and our 2015 1st with the A's.

He seems fully committed to wanting to see this rebuild through, and accepted the captaincy knowing that.
Unless no progress is made with the rebuild in the next two years(and I'm confident with our management team that won't happen), I don't see any reason why he wouldn't want to re-sign.
