Gaudreau, Sven, Wotherspoon.
They're just not going to be able to keep Johnny down.

Gaudreau and Granlund make it. Gaudreau is an obvious choice. Granlund is a semi-obvious choice. Flames will need a bit of offence, and Hartley seemed to really love Granlund's game (and was shocked to see him utilized as a center for the most part).
Reinhart might make it too. If he doesn't make the jump straight out of camp, then he will most likely be the first forward call-up and end up staying.
Wotherspoon for defencemen, but not out of camp. Flames will not dress him as the 7th. He will be the first injury call-up.

I would pick Gaudreau, Baertschi and Wotherspoon.
However, due to all the 1 way contracts going into the season, I could see 1 rookie at most starting with the team full time.

Really hoping baertschi has a great camp and earns a spot. Would love it if both gaudreau and baertschi made the team. And I think Wotherspoon will make it too.

With the conversation going on in the Flames community, I figured we should do the same.
This isn't a prediction of the starting lineup, just a prediction of who of our handful of prospects that will be knocking on the door this fall will make the team out of camp. And by make the team, I don't mean just 9 games. Who graduates this year?
Looking at the lineup, barring any moves between now and camp there appears to be one spot open on the forward ranks without displacing any veteran players. Provided there are injuries and/or a vet under performs, chances are that a second spot could become available for a young player going into the season.
On the defence ranks, things are pretty well stacked as well, meaning the top 6 are occupied with vets, but the team will move into the season carrying an extra skater at least.
So, given the hypothetical situation where you have 2 forward prospects and 1 defence prospect that can make the team, who are your choices?

I'm sure Johnny will wow them too much. Reinhart deserves it more than anyone else. And I think he's ready now
Cundari just because no point in Wotherspoon being 7th defenceman and like it or not Engelland is starting as the 6th Dman. He was signed for 2.9mil

Granlund, Ferland and Wotherspoon. I think Gaudreau deserves it more than the others but I feel like management is going to have him start in the Ahl. I hope I'm wrong and it's Granlund. Gaudreau, Ferland and Wotherspoon as I think the tough guys on the flames will protect Gaudreau better than the tough guys in Adirondack. For 4 of them to make it there would probably have to be an injury to a regular in preseason.

I think there's only a spot for one of those guys in the lineup. Gaudreau will earn it, but it wouldn't shock me if they give it to Baertschi since this is his make or break year. I wouldn't have any complaints either way.
Cundari and Wolf (as long as Johnny is a Flame, otherwise Wolf will be his protection in the AHL) are my picks to be pressbox fillers, though Wolf will get a chance to play some games if the matchups are right.

Gaudreau is an easy pick. Bennett is unlikely but I feel lightning strikes twice as a reward from the hockey gods for being the only team not trying to throw games.

Dark horse pick, but kid is a fitness freak and the coaches seem to love him.

Out of the list I'll pick Gaudreau , Reinhart and Cundari .
Cundari gets 7th dman so players like Wotherspoon get playing time and don't sit in pressbox.
Honestly I see only one forward making it. I think our 7th dman will be a waiver wire pick up.

Cundari as the 7th d-man actually makes a lot of sense (and maybe makes sense as to why they extended him) if they really want Wotherspoon getting top minutes early in the season. He was able to keep up at the NHL pace in his stints here and didn't look bad at all.
Kanzig and Poirier appear to be the biggest surprise picks by some. Can't forget how good Poirier looked last September when he potted a few goals in the exhibitions.. I can't bring myself to rule him out entirely.
