You could remove "Leafs" and replace with "Oilers" and nobody would blink an eye. Not much hope for either of these teams although in the East bad teams always have a chance at getting into the playoffs. Out West there is no hope for bad teams.

For the dollars it's an okay signing. Booth gets you zone entries, but few goals and absolutely disappears for long stretches.

The Leafs are easily better than the Oilers.

He also only played 13 minutes a game.

And shooting from everywhere doesn't necessarily mean high shot totals. The further out you are the better the chance of blocked or missed shots. And that's exactly what happened with Booth who had 49% of his shot attempts not make it to the net. He was still #1 on the Canucks in terms of shots directed at the net per 60 minutes.

Really, his for and against ratios for shots, Corsi, and scoring chances say it all about him:

Shots F/A: 50%

Corsi F/A: 51.9%

Scoring chances F/A: 46.3%

He can generate shot attempt and shots while he's on the ice, but when it comes to actual scoring chances he's getting hammered out there.
