Wait. Isn't the logic games section like 75% of the test? It's been 12 years since I took it so I might be remembering it incorrectly (or it's probably been redesigned several times depending on when you took it), but that's how I recall it.

vocabulary/syntax, geography, pattern recognition, mathematics, logic (e.g A is to B as C is to ?) generally tested equally. If you are younger than 18 the results are scaled by age

In my defence, I was distracted by American Ninja Warrior while I was doing it.
I wouldn't do well on that test either, come to think of it.

The biggest IQ score goes to the guy who uses his money wisely instead of paying an "expert" to tell him how smart he is.

Doesn't your local chapter of Mensa do them for free? Of course if it turns out you're a genius you are then morally obligated to hang out with the dorks at least for a meeting or two.

IQ test? Arrive at a 4 way stop and figure out who goes first. Most people fail this one.

I thought I would revive this thread. I ended up benefits year with a whack of extra bucks that were earmarked for health spending, and wouldn't roll over. Pretty strict limitations on them too - I could only use them for therapy. So I enrolled for an IQ test with a psychologist at Insight, and just completed the assessment yesterday morning.
Pretty interesting, actually. I don't get my results for 2 weeks.

release your provincial and federal voting records, and I will be able to give you a rather accurate estimate.

I would answer, "I'll tell you if you can tell me what IQ stands for?"
I think one in seven or eight kids knew the answer even know it was on the top of the tests front page.

I think a Mensa application test is around $100, but I don't actually know if it counts as an IQ assessment, more as an admittance hurdle. IQ tests - like the WAIS IV - are based on normative samples of over 3000 people. Due to things like the Flynn Effect, you have to update the testing standards every decade or so.

The better online IQ tests seem to be designed backwards, they take people with known IQ's, test them, then measure your results against their's. The other online IQ tests are complete nonsense. A few years ago, I took a number of online IQ tests and a lot of the results I got were similar to my 4th grade IQ, while a few were way off.
I think the best way to do it for free is to take a whole bunch of free tests, ignore any results that are wildly different from the rest and you should have a pretty good idea where you are at.

No, anything but an administered test is useless. It is not about your score, but your score relative to population norms.

Here is a remarkably accurate intelligence test I administer to the
people I meet.
Your favorite hockey team is?
A) Calgary Flames
B) Edmonton Oilers
C) Vancouver Canucks
D) Other
There is only one correct answer. If you get it wrong, you are not intelligent and will most likely be shunned and ridiculed for the rest of your life.

Several of the online IQ tests I took were only a few points off my official score, I wouldn't dismiss them outright, it's just a difficult field to navigate because their is so much BS out there. Besides, you only need a rough idea of where your IQ is at, as there is no benefit to precisely knowing one's own IQ and your IQ will vary depending on sleep, health, diet, mood, environment, etc.
