I'm not too sure what % I spend but I like to take 2 to 3 flying somewhere trips a year. Travel is very important to me and I have no problem spending accordingly.

I'd say I spend over 10%, but I don't crunch the numbers.
Travel is a big part of my life and as a shift worker my time is divided up a little differently from the 9-5ers so I usually take a 4+ week trip every year, plus another two weeker, and then some smaller 4-7 day trips.
If you are worried about budget there are some fantastic places to travel that are also cheap like borscht. A friend and I did 6 weeks in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand and I only spent 8 thousand. My friend spent around 5. I just did some more shopping, scuba, and shot an RPG to make up the difference..
Vietnam is super cheap. You can fly there for under $1500 and spend less then 1000 a month on everything else if you wanted to.

Probably a good 10%. Typically at least one dive trip a year for 1-2 weeks and another 2+ weeks to Europe or elsewhere. Next year will be a bunch higher as we're going on a dream trip to Antarctica in January.

5-10% but I don't track it. I think this is a comfortable range I'd like to stick with.

I usually save up $2-3k total a year for 1 or 2 trips a year. The cost of road trips (ie: half a fuel tank for a mountain drive) doesn't count.
I don't set a destination. I just choose the best deal in the period set aside for my trip.

10% for me, although I don't plan it that way. I have always made travel spending a priority. I also like to live below my means during the year and then above my means when I travel so the costs tend to reflect that. Last year I had some extra time off so I probably spent closer to 15%.

10-15% not factoring in parts broken on the bikes and vehicle/rv repairs. Not bad considering we are gone almost every weekend from april until thanks giving.

We've gone as high as 25% in past. Now with a baby and my wife on mat leave, it's going to be more like 3% this year, and that's out of a smaller income.

How much does a typical vacation cost you? For my family of four a 3.5 to 4 star (out of 5) vacation is almost always $8K for a week or two depending where we go. My wife and I joke about how consistent that number is.

i don't think we have a set percentage; however, when we book we look at the cost of things and make decisions accordingly.
it is also deceptive becasue you usually wind up paying for the bulk of the costs before the vacation - for example we are going down to oregon in two weeks, we have already paid for our accomodations which will be most of the costs......
if we were going to europe or something, then we'd plan further ahead, and likely turn a vacation into a staycation.......

2-3% depending on the year?
One thing we're really bad at is capping the cost once we arrive, we tend to shop hard on flights/accommodations and making a point of having those both fully paid for before we go, in many cases 6-8 weeks in advanced. So by the time the trip rolls around we don't always budget our meals/shopping as well because the initial sting of buying the trip is a long ago memory, and hey, we're in vacation mode.

I'd say around 10% - 25% of my money goes towards travel/camping/ski trips...etc.
If not more.
Dare I say, "#### it, Yolo."

travel? ?
Just took holidays for the first time in 9 years
Did this after realising what do I ACTUALLY have to show for after making back to back millionaires? ??
Former rectally discomfort ing employers!!!
So .....back to the original question.
Ill be upping the percentage of income towards much needed holidays after being in Tofino and Salt spring for too little amount of time.

I am probably around 10-15% for personal trips. Although I don't have to pay for 75% of my trips as they are paid by my clients.

Usually put about $200/month away for vacations. It's a good feeling when you book a future vacation and pay for it right away.
