Was between Gillis and Ortio for me, went Ortio because of what he showed last year. Many are close in this area imo.

Tough, tough call. I went for Gillies here, because I see him as a guy who could end up as a #1 goalie. Ortio has looked good, but I think Gillies has the edge. McDonald is a wildcard - too early to tell, but he does look to have promise.
Klimchuk was the other guy I was thinking of voting for here, and I do see him as a second/third line guy, but with Gillies potentially being a #1 goalie, I think he edges it.
Klimchuk will be next for me, then going to Wotherspoon, Ortio, Kulak, Jankowski as the next tier. McDonald may squeak into that group

My debate here is between Wortherspoon and Klimchuk. I see Wortherspoon as second pairing upside with bottom pairing downside.
I see Klimchuk as 2nd line upside, wash out downside.
Wortherspoon is closer to the NHL.
I have eliminated Reinhart for a while because I put him at 3rd line upside.
Will likely go Wortherspoon, Klimchuk, Ortio at this point.

Klimchuk for me here. Versatile winger that can not only play with elite players (as evidenced by playing with team Canada) but does well at it. Ability to score at a high rate, plays very solid defence and is an excellent character and leader?
I predict Klimchuk will be the most talked about prospect next to Bennett this upcoming season.

I picked Wotherspoon. I think the kid has top #3/4 potential.

Wotherspoon for me again. He should be higher on this list in my opinion. But such is life for most defencemen. Always flying under the radar and underappreciated.

Who are Bennet and Poirer?
I also went with the Calgary kid Klimchuk, with his injuries last season I don't really think we know what his ceiling could be. I could have also picked Gilles in this spot.
Not sold on Wotherspoon at this point. I watched him a bunch when he was with Portland (especially his final year) and saw all his games in the WJC and his NHL games with the Flames. He does play a fairly solid "no frills" game, but I'm not quite sure how that is going to translate in the NHL going forward.

Wotherspoon. Rarely injured, has done nothing but progressed on a steady incline since drafted. On the cusp of the NHL and could step in for 3/4 minutes already.

Wavered between Klimchuk and Wotherspoon, but ultimately went with Klimchuk. Sieloff is a worthy candidate too.

Wotherspoon.
Already solid defensively, big enough, skates pretty well, makes a good read almost all the time. The offense is coming with him too. I saw glimpses of his passing ability last year and, while he may not score a lot of goals, should be a solid offensive player to at least be a 2nd pairing guy…and may even be the more defensive player in a top pairing.
I mean seriously people. Last season was his first PRO season. In that year he played top 4 minutes for Abbotsford, was a +13 despite only 9 points to his name, came up and played 14 games for the Flames (in a limited role) and had 4 assists and was so solid defensively that he came out only -3 on a bad team. Oh, and he turned just 21 in March, so he did all that as a 20 year old, which is way ahead of the curve for a defenseman.
He's not flashy, but he's the best defensive prospect we've had since Phaneuf. He's easily the most pro-ready player left on the board (ok, maybe Ortio).

Went Sieloff here. Just a gut feeling.
I dont understand people voting for the same player multiple times in a row. Shouldn't it be just choose where you think someone is and not continue choosing your one guy until he is gone? Doesn't that kind of skew the results where prospects are getting votes missed and some who are getting more than others from one voter?
For example. I voted Ortio at number 3, but theres a good likelyhood he's closer to 10. I haven't been continuously voting him since then, I've been voting who I think is 4, 5 etc.. unless a player went earlier and I have to pick someone else. I'm just going by who I think slots where and moving on. Trying to boost one player so that it looks closer to what your opinion is isn't really the idea, at least in my mind.

Really like Sieloff, love his game but man does he have a long road back. I almost just want to write him off completely then be pleasantly surprised if/when he makes the jump to the NHL.

voted reinhart, guy will play, klimchuk has to prove it at the ahl level and his ceiling doesn't seem any higher than max's anyhow.

Why doesn't Klimchuk's ceiling seem higher then Reinhart's?
If you watch either players, or followed them in junior, you can see that Klimchuk is the much better offensive player.
Reinhart had 21 goals in his draft year, Klimchuk had 36
As 18 year olds they put up similar numbers, but Klimchuk was fighting various injuries all. Reinhart played 71 games as an 18 year old, Klimchuk only played 57.

You should be voting who you think is the best prospect out of whoever is left, not trying to guess what everyone else will pick. If you thought Ortio was a better prospect than Klimchuk at 3, you should still think Ortio is a better prospect than Klimchuk at 6.

That makes no sense to me. The point of the poll is to see where the board's overall opinion lies to get a semi-accurate look at where our prospects rank. If this was to be a blind survey, done all at once where people order their picks, that would be the result I think we're trying to get here. Like voting for awards. People give first place, second place votes etc..
I look at like we all have a list of where we think prospects are, if we combined those lists, what would the rankings be? Voting for players multiple times skews that.
