Granlund. I gave Poirier round 4 and it was close. Wotherspoon, Klimchuk, Reinhart and Ortio/Gillies were also in my consideration.

This was pointed out in one of the previous threads, but probably got buried along the way: At some point, Brad Thiessen and Sena Acolatse should be added to the list of choices.
They're not high-profile guys and they just joined the team two weeks ago (with so little fanfare, their signings were announced as part of the Byron signing announcement), but they have just as much chance of becoming NHLers as a lot of the guys on the list.
Depending on how badly the Flames get hit with injuries on the blueline, I'd say there's a good chance Acolatse sees some action in Calgary this season.

IMO Gillies is being criminally underrated. The guy is a towering goaltender putting up elite stats in an adult league.

Yup. I think he gets my vote starting next round.

I just have a hard time ranking goalies against skaters, especially since they are so unpredictable.
I have Ortio and Gilles likely right after that grouping I just posted.

I know Granlund will win this round and that's fine.
But for me, Klimchuk has shown me enough to be moved up into the group with Poirier and Baertschi as having that elite potential.
I just don't see the same upside for Granlund and I have him as the top player in the 2nd group of forwards including Reinhart and Arnold and a couple others.
But of course, it is the ongoing balancing between readiness and potential

Yeah, they should definitely be on the list, especially Acolatse.

I let the Granlund hype sway me into voting for him... but I kind of wish I'd gone with Klimchuk. Definitely going Klimchuk next round.

Tough call here, but Granlund is the guy I am picking. Klimchuk and Gillies are close IMO.

Close one for me between Granlund and Reinhart but leaned towards Reinhart. I think his 2 way game out him over the top for me. Like both prospects quite a bit

This was my spot for Sven, so I chose Granlund.

I agree that Ortio and Gillies should be recognized, However, I still think there are plenty of forwards that go before them.
1. Gaudreau
2. Bennett
3. Baertschi
4. Poirier
5. Granlund
6. Klimchuk
8. Reinhart
9. Wotherspoon
10. Ortio
Followed by:
11. Gillies
12. Jankowski
13. Sieloff
14. Arnold
15. Knight
What a freakin' deep prospect pool.

The next vote will be the first one thats actually somewhat difficult for me. I'm a big fan of Klimchuk, but I think I'm going to be going with Ortio and then Gilles for 6/7
After Kilimchuk at 8, that'll still leave me with Wotherspoon, Reinhart and Jankowski to pick between
After that its going to be a toss up between guys like Arnold, Sieloff, Ferland, Knight, Agostino and Smith

Looks like this it the first time I won't be with the popular vote, but I'm going Gillies.
He followed up a rookie of the year season, with 1 fewer game, the exact same SvPct & GA. But 2 extra wins, on an already impressive winning record. Goalies aren't like skaters, they don't need to improve their stats to show progress. Consistently maintaining great stats is progress.
While really hard to project, I think Gillies in the top 5 just on the off chance he becomes an extremely big difference maker.

Gillies certainly has the potential to be a great goalie.
The reason I can't rank the goalies this high though is that their likelihood of being an impact NHLer is so low.
I think Gillies has elite potential. But I look at a Klimchuk and I also see elite potential (as a best case scenario) but a higher likelihood of that happening, as well as a higher likelihood of being a decent NHLer.

Klimchuk is the best chuk we've had since Igor Kravchuk, while Granlund is the best lund we've had since Backlund.
Since Backlund > Igor Kravchuk, Granlund gets my vote.

Went with Gillies. He's basically the goaltender equivalent of Gaudreau. A mid-round pick that is dominating the NCAA. Should probably be higher in the rankings, but forwards are flashier I guess...
