At least you have integrity and are taking responsibility. I think most people would just act stupid and let the landlord deal with it.

I'm very impressed with that insurance company, and would like the name of it, if they are so quick to cover "I messed up all the plumbing by accident while installing a bidet", cuz I'd love to install a hot tub in my bedroom. Just always worried about covering the damages.

I am glab insurance covered it.
As I just delt with the similar issue from the landloards side.
The tennats installed bidet seats and destroyed two bathrooms and left without fixing anything.
Leaving me to pay for all the damage.

LOL, your insurance company covered damages you caused as a non-licensed plumber hacking into a rental without even sending an appraiser to inspect? That or they have the fastest appraisal policy in the history of Insurance. Holy crap, who is this magical insurance company? I need to use these guys. I've always wanted an indoor pool in my 900 square foot condo, and these guys just may be the ticket!

I dont think most of you realize essentially all he did was add a t fitting with a handheld sprayer inline at the cold water to the toilet connection. It takes all of two minutes to install or remove and is not a permanent modification.

It's my land lord insurance not mine which covered it. I any way told my land lord that I will pay if insurance won't cover it.

The damage may not even exceed the deductible sounds like.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Landlord's insurance decided to subrogate and push this onto gladaki's liability insurance.... I haven't heard anything about flooring yet....

I wish I could see the pic. I'm imagining one of those sprayers that you can pull out of the kitchen sink, rigged up to the toilet water line.

I don't know where I'm going to hang it, but I want one in my bathroom. Bidets are wicked.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I can't imagine having water sprayed up my under carriage and have it do a proper clean job.

Very possible as OP has insurance. Also, sucks for the landlord to have a claim, their rates will go up because of this. They really shouldn't be involving insurance unless it is $2k or more.

That's what I thought too until I was forced to tried the spray gun in Thailand.

They actually work better than toiler paper IMO.

Think of it this way.

If you got some poop on your face would you rather A: wash it off with water, or B: just wipe it with a napkin?

I think most people would choose the first option.
