"It" being the Ribeiro/Roy combo. I don't think Cooper had anything suggesting Ribeiro would sign and I haven't seen it anywhere else either (granted I haven't done an exhaustive search to see if anyone else was ahead on Ribeiro).

The point being, Eklund is a loser, but he (as Tinordi suggests) probably does have a source with the Preds.

Nashville did a good job of plugging some holes this year, will be interesting to see how these UFA vets mesh with their good young forward group. Smith, Wilson, Bourque and especially Janrkok all seem to be pretty legit.

LoL.

That's a pretty cheap and relatively good (albeit, aging) group of centers for the Preds.

Bargain shopping for reclamation projects would never work in a Canadian market, but a place like Nashville it may work?

Throw a bunch of #### at the wall and hopefully something sticks.

The Preds direction reminds of the Flames signing Amonte, Freisen, et all when Sutter was at the helm. This won't work out well for them.

I have a feeling he's probably going to score a hat trick against us this season.

Good for him getting a deal.

Eklund reposted someone else's tweet as his own information. He wasn't wrong, but it's no different than anyone else following twitter.

Wow really like these deals. Could pay off huge and if they don't very low risk. Crazy the amount of these types of deals this year. Preds are looking alright right now.

The West just gets tougher and tougher. This is pretty good for the Flames, all things considered.

not bad. Both guys can still play and put up some points. Not a big jokinen fan, so unclear on where he fits into all of this.

is foresberg (sp?) close to being on the roster? am curious what their top9 looks like with these additions.

These moves make sense as Laviolette's wide open coaching style wouldn't have worked well with the plugs they had at forward last season. I can see this team scoring more goals than seasons past at the expense of team defense and it will be interesting to see how this team transitions.

Not to mention if the Preds are not a playoff team come trade deadline these two could be used to add assets to the organization.

Solid deals.

I think the Preds will be fighting the Sens for 1st overall at the draft.

Not a chance with Shea Weber and a healthy Pekka Rinne

Ribiero blames his problems last season on his marriage:
http://www.tennessean.com/story/pred...tors/12671837/

Quote:
Speaking during a press conference at Bridgestone Arena after the Predators announced his signing, Ribeiro talked about Maloney's comments, said he had addressed his issues and was going to marriage counseling with his wife Tamara.

"I had a chance to really focus on myself and really learn about myself," Ribeiro said. "That's why I'm comfortable. What Mr. Maloney said – it shocked some people, my wife wasn't happy about it. I sat down, thought about it. I'm comfortable with myself now. I'm open with what happened or didn't happen with our marriage issues, and really I think I'm comfortable with it and not trying to hide it."
Quote:
He admitted that his marriage problems contributed to his production last season.

"I was not committed to my job because of my issues. I just wanted the year to be over so I could go work on them so I could go be a healthy person," Ribeiro said. "I think my head is really clear. I have my family with me right now, and we're ready to move forward."
