Prayers go out to him and his family.

Too bad he couldn't trade this cancer to Dallas as well.

This is one of those great guys you hate hearing anything but great news for. Been a rough couple years for the guy, but this makes everything else irrelevant. Get well soon Bryan.

It's incredibly cruel what Cancer does to people. Hopefully they caught it early.

Looks like the news is not good for Bryan Murray. The cancer has spread and unfortunately, there is no cure.

Bryan Murray tells @MichaelFarber3 he has Stage 4 colon cancer and might have had it for 7-10 years. Telling people to have a colonoscopy.

So true. We work and work and work.... then it's all gone in the blink of an eye. I'm typing this from a hotel room in a city far away from my wife and kids, a typical scenario for me 4-5 nights each week.

I wish I had the courage to make a drastic change because by the time I do, it may be too late.

Well, good luck to Bryan. If he wants to fight, its never over, I personally know at least 1 person who made it through Stage 4 Colon Cancer ~20 years ago, and she is still doing fine.

I have bowel cancer history in my family.

As a result I have to have a colonoscopy every few years. Not fun for sure. But the only way you can screen for it.

Horrible news. But Bryan's advice on getting checked out is a good one. Especially if you're over 40.

Once it's spread to your liver and lungs it's over.

Unlike most cancers, lung cancer's survival rate is pretty much unchanged since the 70's. Lung cancer is usually a death sentence.

Very sad to hear this about Bryan, he is a great hockey man.

Bad news. Hopefully he can keep fighting/extending his life as they find more treatment options. Never give up.

If he has CNETs (Carcinoid Neuro Endocrine Tumours) it may buy significantly more time. The goal for CNETs is the highest quality of life for the longest amount of time. My father had it and so did Steve Jobs. The issue is stopping or drastically slowing the tumour from growing so that it doesn't disrupt the healthy functioning systems of the body. Cancer is a BIG word that is exceedingly complex, yet prone to oversimplification. Carcinoid means 'Cancer Like' as it is a slow growing cancer, but if it is still growing it can cause problems and ultimately death. However, tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Carpe Diem!

Cancer is NO GOOD. Thoughts are with Mr. Murray.

Think everyone on the forums has been affected by this jerk disease.

This is a powerful post. Appreciate it.

The fact is we are all going to run out of time and not money. Time is the non-replenishable resource.

Strange at his age that colon cancer would go undetected for all those years.
