I really don't want Reimer. He is a terrible goalie... his glove hand is almost absurdly bad.

Since when does a fringe goaltender like Reimer have the cred to demand a trade?

reimer is a pretty average NHL level goaltender. I really hope the flames don't give up valued assets to get him.

Yet his numbers have been solid this far in his career.

Two of his last three seasons he finished with a GAA over 3.00.
When I watch him I cringe... he gives up a ton of rebounds and a lot of the time he can't catch the puck with his glove... I've even seen him punch the puck away with his glove hand instead of trying to catch it.
There are way better options.

What about save %? He was 6th best last in the entire NHL. And that's on the Leafs.
The guy already has two seasons above .920 save %. To say he's just garbage is ridiculous.

Cripes…mention any Leaf player in an unfavorable fashion and it's like the Batsignal for Big Tuna. I will leave this thread for the night now.

I wonder how he'd feel about going to the team that's run by the same guy who went out and traded for Giguere and signed both Gustavsson and Scrivens as UFAs while he was waiting to get his chance to start?

Reimer doesn't really pass the eye test.
He blocks shots doesn't stop them. Bad rebound control. Awful glove hand. Not very mobile.
He seems to alternate good and bad years. 3.26GAA last year is ugly though, he is sitting on a bounce back season but his best season ever was 2.46GAA which is ok but not great.
He's never played more than 37 games in a season. Could platoon nicely with Ramo and be a 1B type guy but it sucks to have to trade an asset for him when you could pick up another goalie in free agency for just dollars.

No way you give up an asset for him when there are other (equally mediocre) options out there

I am still surprised that Gustavsson's agent let him sign in Detroit before even listening to other teams offers
1. He barely even got a raise
2. We could have given him more money
3. He re-signed with a team that has is fully committed to another guy long term
