I don't think the Dutch are very good

Robben should have had a penalty there

I bet Robben's diving reputation cost him that penalty. Pretty uneventful game otherwise.

Just an excuse, they're not even trying. It was exactly the same crap against Chile, terrible football.

PKs have been called for a lot less than that thus far. Refs had a talking to perhaps?

Absolute crap. The Finnish commentators have been jeering at them pretty good too.
Yes, I am 'actually' watching the game.

I don't really care what a Finnish commentator is saying. How anyone can watch a game like the Dutch/Spain game and say the Dutch play a boring style is just bewildering.

That's what I was thinking. Another player might have received one of those calls.

Really I thought Robben realized he had lost the ball and fell down. The other Dutch guys didnt appeal. Robben complained after the fact.

One play looked like the Mexican clipped his shin. But when you're on the ground and complaining with your hands in the air multiple times a game I think the refs start to tune you out. There won't be any PKs unless it's blatantly obvious, so he should just stay on his feet and keep playing.

38C obviously favours the Mexicans in this second half as it stretches on. The Qatar issue will grow with each water/cooling break this WC.

I really can't stand Lloyd Barker and his so called expert analysis.

It's entertaining if the other side has a total defensive collapse the way Spain did, but saying that the game was entertaining because of the way Netherlands plays in general is just silly.

Long ball to Van persie.
Long ball to Robben.
Corner kick.
Long ball to Robben.
Goalie fumble.

Yes, Robben and Van Persie are amazing to behold, much as I dislike them as players. But that has nothing to do with the way Netherlands plays in general.

They almost effed up the game against Australia, which was the only time they actually tried to control the ball some. So I get why they're doing it, don't get me wrong. But it's still a terrible style of football.

Really? That looked like a harmless play. The Dutch need to get going.

I think the heat and Mexico's defence is affecting Netherland's play. They're a good team, but that first game against Spain kind of over-rated them in my eyes.

And YES MEXICOOOOO!!!!!

Mexico has been playing well and need to keep playing their game. Parking the bus right now is only going to let Netherlands back into the game.

Even when they were up 2-1 or 3-1 they kept pressing. That game could have been 10-1 with all the chances they had. To me, that's entertaining, I don't care what Spain did, the Dutch were pressing and all over them for the majority of that game.

I guess we'll agree to disagree.

Well, now Robben started to get the balls from midfield. An improvement, thank you Mexico

True. And yes, they kept pressing, but when the other side has that kind of a complete meltdown, of course you're not going to sit on it. After all, scoring goals is a ton of fun

In any case, agree to disagree, and Viva La Verde!

What a save by Ochoa!
