A large defensive minded defenseman. Ollas Mattsson plays a fairly simple and smart game, using his great reach to his advantage. Is a consistent player that will be mostly recognized for his solid defensive play in the future. Can work some on his mobility. (EP 2014)

Another big man. So far Flames drafted a good two-way centre Sam Bennett, a big goaltender Mason MacDonald, a big RW Hunter Smith, a couple of big defensemen Brandon Hickey and now this huge Adam Ollas Matsson. They even added a gritty winger Brandon Bollig via trade. I'd say they are covering what they needed in the near future. Pretty happy so far especially if all these guys play in the NHL sometime in the near future.
