They couldn't get better than that return for Neal?

Playing to lose mark 3? Looking like it. Bet Sid and Ev are chuffed about that.

I think people are underrating Hornqvist. He now gets a chance to play with two of the best three centres in the league. He'll score. A lot.

I like Hornqvist, but the Preds have a lot of good two-way forwards. Good deal for the Preds.

Preds are going to be exciting to watch for a change. Laviolette behind the bench and finally some real skill up front.

There's gotta be more than that? Hornqvist is really good though.

This is a bad deal for PIT.
Franchise is in a downward spiral.

I think Neal's a bit overrated, so I don't think it's nearly that bad for Pittsburgh. I like Hornqvist, he'll do well with Sid or Malkin.

Poille proves again he is one of the top GM's in the league with this deal. Wow.

What an atrocious trade for Pittsburgh. That's honestly the most they could get for a potential 40 goal scorer?

Makes you wonder if the Flames could of had Neal for something similar?

Problem is, we don't have Hornqvist type of player to make these sorts of deals.

I don't think it is a bad move, Hornqvist has steadily put up 45+ points on a low scoring team and plays responsible hockey. Spaling is a great depth player who can pitch in offensively. Neal is one dimensional scoring winger who, lets face it, has inflated numbers from playing with Malkin.

Hornqvist is good. Fair trade I think. Pittsburgh wasn't looking to replace Neal's output. Hornqvist is very responsible on his side of the rink. Not a bad deal at all for Pittsburgh. Neal will never put up those same numbers now that he's not in Pittsburgh.

According to that other board, the Preds had trouble qualifying Spaling, so that's an even bigger win for the Preds. Losing Hornqvist surely stings, but going home with Neal and Fiala ... that day surely could have been worse for them.

Neal is a 40 goal guy playing with Crosby or Malkin.
Horrible trade.
