Most recently, have seen both Gelias (several times) and Conroy at Pulchinella.
The hostess actually sat me/wife/kid right next to the Gelinas family once. My wife had no idea who he is so I quietly texted her from across the table. My wife is franco and thinks that french is some top secret code that only she speaks and i can sorta understand. She pulls a "if he's a flame, go say hi". I replied with the obligatory "not at dinner". Marty apparently caught the whole exchange. I got a grin and a nod.

Back when I was a kid and lived in Calgary, met Mike Vernon grocery shopping several times with my mom.
Met Lanny, Doug Risebrough and Reggie Lemelin at a signing.
Met Sergei Makarov bike riding on Nose Hill. Even with his broken English, was polite and stopped and chatted with me and a buddy for a little while.

I met Darryl Sutter when he was coaching Chicago. We didn't get along.
I met Eric Roy at the Penticton tournament. Nice kid.

Met Mike Vernon. Seemed pretty pompous.
Darryl Sutter is a classic.
Jay Feaster was very nice. Probably knew his fame would run out fast.
Glencross approachable at a Red Deer Rebels game during the lockout.

I've known both Joe Colborne and Brad Pascall for over 10 years now. Both are great guys.

Quite a few through events such as the flames poker tournament but I can't really call asking a question "meeting" them.
Meeting them is cool but working with them is a totally different experience. I have worked with a few pro athletes including flames players. Its amazing how they are just a normal person after 20 minutes.

On BSD this year, literally the entire team was in a private cordoned off section at Cowboys and one of my friends who knows quite a few of them got us in. Joe Colborne and Chris Butler ended up buying a couple rounds of shots which we were included in, and then later on I ended up buying a drink for Agostino and Gaudreau who were both really sick guys to speak with, especially Gaudreau who just seemed to be enjoying himself. Bouma also randomly turned around at one point and handed me a beer without saying much. Earlier in the night I had a brief interaction with Smid who came up and apologized to me after shredding some girl who was standing beside me (who I didn't know) and trying to take pics of her friend trying to get personal with him even though his wife was standing right beside him. Also had conversations with Monahan, Backlund, Arnold and Westgarth at various points throughout the night. Oddly enough, Richard Sherman and a few other Seahawks who I don't know showed up later that night and I ended up hanging out with them for a while and they were also all extremely cool dudes.

That's the kind of story that sounds like it should end with "... and then I woke up".

When I was young use to go to a lot of games and a lot of autograph sessions. One of the Flames, can't remember which now had a kid on my ball team. Not a star, would have to look at the old photos to remember.
I've chatted with a number of them this year at GM place when they were in town. Sometimes at practices or hours before the game. Nothing earth shattering just everyday BS. Had a few cracks at them when they were unloading their own gear before the last game.
I'd say I've had a conversation with Sutter last year but it was more of a series of grunts.

I was wasting time before my kids ice time at Centennial a few years ago standing at the glass watching the game that was going on. Didnt really notice when a guy came up and stood beside me (other than him being big) just glanced at him. Talked for about 10 minutes while watching, end of the period came and I actually looked at him then. Bertuzzi.
Nice guy.

I met Murray Bannerman as a child down at Northlands Colosseum. I was down by the glass with my brother while the hawks were practicing. Bannerman skated over to us and said that they all hated the oilers and asked if we wanted an oilers puck. He then flipped a couple pucks to both of us...which we promptly lost.
I haven't met any players since!

Only hockey players I've met are Ladd and Getzlaf my pee wee team won a contest and they came to one of our games. I remember I came in on a one on one and the defender knocked the puck I got back to the bench and getzlaf told me next time to put it threw the defenders legs and go around him sure enough it worked but I didn't score haha. That's my only cool story. A friend I know met Monahan at cowboys has some pictures with him.

I met Sven at YVR today, coming in from Switzerland and connecting to his "second home" in Portland. Nice kid. Good sport about his luggage being lost. Said injury was healing well. His cell phone number still starts with 403 for the record.

Met the entire team in 2008 at a dinner in honour of Seaman brothers. Had Kipper and Iggy calling my kid on my cell phone and talking to him for almost 5 minutes about junior hockey, which was really awesome. Had Warrener taking my photo with Kipper and Goddard, while bitching that he should be in a picture and not Goddard, because of seniority.
From the current active roster, I only met Giordano. Played golf with him and Eberle last year at Country Hills. Both excellent golfers.

Got to know Colborne really well when I was involved with the Camrose Kodiak organization during his time there.
He is still every bit the outstanding young man now as he was then.
