Yeah pretty tame to what I'm used to as well... of course storms take on a whole new meaning this time of year in Oklahoma. Moving to Calgary has paid dividends this spring. Sure I have been cold for the first 6 months of being here but I made through an April and May without being apprehensive about 'Naders. Now if it would just stay between 20-25 for the next 8 months, I'd be happy.

Pretty sure it's hovering right above Cranston now. Crazy lightning and thunder cracks every few seconds. Wind is shaking the entire house.

Enjoy storms not tearing your roof off and destroying your town. The price is living in Hoth.

In Deer Run and the storm got pretty aggressive... even saw some spiraling lightning, or at least it looked like it spiraled... it was pretty cool

Yeah those storms are on a level I have never seen. In Medicine Hat they were noisy and violent but not in a tornado sense, winds don't usually come with it. They were extremely loud and the crack of the thunder following the lightning would be so loud its hard to describe, but once you lived through it a few years you learned to still feel safe and just enjoy it. You'd learn to count the seconds between the lightning and the thunder and when it came it literally could make you jump out of your bed. Good times.
What I heard tonight just reminded me of it, but it was really tame compared to what it can be.

Ha, didn't notice a thing in Marda Loop. Blinds are shut and maybe TV was too loud.

Saw some lightning here, but very little thunder.
Read on twitter about people seeing this really cool storm, now I'm a bit disappointed.
Thunderstorms make up a number of my good memories from days past.

At least in Canyon Meadows the rain was really intense. Having lived in Kelowna for a long time, I never got experience good thunderstorms so this was definitely near the top of the list for me. The constant lightning was really neat.

Lightening struck very close to my house in Auburn Bay (shook the whole thing and lit up my whole living room). Good times.

I grew up in Medicine Hat as well, and miss the storms like crazy. Nowhere does lightning quite like southeastern Alberta.
Edmonton's storms are no good.

Wanted to get some lightning photos taken off my balcony. Got all wet and thoroughly disappointed. No good shots...

Thunder and wind shook the house for a while.. but just chilled out with my head phones on catching up on some shows like it was nbd. Wasn't much compared to a few dandies I've had here over the past couple summers. Southwest of the city I'm in the path of just about every storm coming over the mountains/foothills. Had lightning strike two different neighbours' yards in that time. The odd Alberta tropical rainstorm isn't too bothersome anymore.

Sad that I didn't hear any thunder. Saw the light show in the distance and jumped in the car and tried to drive further south to get a better look but the closer I got the further the storm moved.

It woke me up, I knew I should have gotten up and checked it out over downtown but I was just to lazy and went back to bed.

In West Hillhurst we were surrounded by crazy lightning around 11:00 pm. To the North and to the South of us. The wind blew a lot of blossoms off the trees.
