I think is hard to relate Reinhart to Gaudreau... as Reinhart is 6'1". I feel like everybody takes Reinhart to be small but is same height and weight as Monahan was at last years draft.

If Reinhart, Bennett or Ekblad is still available, there is NO WAY they look past them.
Still think we could see a trade involving either Backlund or Baertschi to get another pick in the top 10-15 though.

He's not truculent, but he's got good size. Reinhart is essentially Sean Monahan. Two very even-keeled, smart players who aren't affected by the intensity of the game, but can raise their game to the appropriate level. In the handful of games I watched Reinhart, he's so nifty with the puck. He's a pass-first guy, but he's extremely skilled with the puck.
I don't think Treliving and Burke will take their big/truculent criteria into account for our first pick.

Sam Reinhart is known for having a high hockey IQ.
Favorite team: Calgary Flames
Check out Jake Virtanen's page: http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospect...Rank&year=2014
Jake Virtanen's hockey IQ is often questioned.
Favorite team: Vancouver Canucks

Reinhart and Monahan up the middle would give us a decade of stability up the middle. Not only in terms of players, but also style of play.
Reinhart/Monahan 1A/1B
Backlund 3rd line center
Yes please.

Plus don't forget who we have in the system:
- Granlund
- Reinhart
- Knight
- Arnold
Each of these guys could step into the third line center spot as well. Soon, and I mean very soon, the Flames are going to have solid depth at center. Dare I say, a center depth problem/dilemma?

I remember our center depth sucked so bad a few years ago... Now it seems to be our strongest position in the system.

Monahan should wear 19 anyways.

Trade Glencross, Monahan goes to #20, Reinhart can have #23. Simple. All about the numbers. not about who is better of course!

Nah, I like #23 for Monahan. Sam's worn #10 before:
...so get Corban Knight to surrender his number instead!

Anyone know off hand the avg height and weight for calgary last year? The way i see it is whoever is the first pick will be probably above that right now. Getting bigger and heavier is just as important.

Reinhart could either be a top 6 centre or right wing, depending on how the other centres in the system develop. That versatility is a big plus. If one of the better D slides into the start of round 2, or if the Flames trade up, this could be a big draft to set this team forward. Grab a good player in 2015, then start to really move on from there

I sure hope not. Definitely not Backlund anyway. I see him as just starting to come into his own now, and is going to be an elite two-way third line centre in this league.
I don't think Baertschi is on Burke, Treliving or even Hartley's radar as a player. If you are small, you need to be Gaudreau good - and Sven didn't show enough this year. That said, what makes one think there is a better player available than him at 10-15, I don't know. Unless they can get a guy they want, where size matters.

Virtanen I think will have a more consistent career than Bourque who seemed to nosedive right off a cliff after getting a long term contract (I used to be quite the fan of motivated Bourque...the one that played on PP and PK) but he doesn't seem complete and I'd probably be fine if Reinhart and Virtanen went to their favourite teams.
Edit - Of course, I wouldn't be expecting a complete player after the top 5 or so in this draft. I just feel the above are some some concerning signs for me if I was a GM. Maybe I favour consistency a little too much.
