Would have preferred Reinhart to bennet, but only slightly. This team really needs some right hand shots.

half the talent of his old man would still only amount to a 340 point career in the NHL. That would be rather disappointing for a top 5 pick.

No matter who we get out of the top 4, I'll be happy

I see it going either Ekblad, Bennett, Drasaitl, Reinhart or,
Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett, Drasaitl

If Bennett is there, then I think we have to take him. I think the real choice will be between Draisaitl and Dal Colle though.

The scenario many are hoping for - "Killer"-Clone Bennett it is.

Which is more points than Rico Fata and Daniel Tkaczuk had in their combined NHL careers.

I'd be shocked if he was, he'd be a great addition.

I've got as much chance of being picked 4th overall as Bennett does. He's going to Florida or buffalo.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but I really hate the idea I see sometimes that "if <insert highly sought after prospect> ever becomes half the talent of <insert marginal 3rd/2nd liner> we should be very happy". No, I won't be happy if our 4th over-all pick becomes Stu Bickel or Matthew Lombardi. That's the #1 way you build a perpetual loser franchise. I hope this year's pick becomes the next franchise forward or defenceman, helps us win multiple Stanley Cups and becomes a future Hall of famer... and I'm not ashamed to say it.

Hope those in the "he won't be there" crowd understand what I was trying to accomplish. Every prediction discussion on the pick has everyone answering in different ways, under different criteria (traded picks, who'd they pick, who they hope is there) and it amounts to nothing.

Get everyone to vote who each team will pick and then see what's left at four.

Is it scientic? Lord no.

But at least it's grounded.

One of these guys has to be there, and by all accounts Draisaitl is the likeliest candidate for Edmonton, and running under the assumption that Ekblad doesn't make it out of the top 2, that leaves one of the Sams. I've seen 3 different published mock drafts online that have it going in this exact order. So don't be shocked if it does. Buffalo is the most probable destination of the top three, but if they choose Reinhart instead, Bennett could very well be a Flame. If not, Reinhart is just as likely to be a Flame.

I chose Bennett, but only because Draisaitl is off the board. I have a feeling that if Bennett is there with Edmonton still holding the 3rd pick that they will take him.

I get it, but I think it's human nature that in any population, a certain amount of "wishful thinking" infiltrates the results in these types of polls. Bennett is the popular choice among Flames fans due to his style, the comparisons to Gilmour, and the tire pumping from Monahan. The results are probably strongly influenced and manufactured from that bias.
