If Buffalo doesn't take Bennett, I don't see Edmonton passing on him. As much as I wish it was Draisaitl, I really think it's Bennett.

I think all of the talk about the oilers taking draisaitl is because they (as many others are) believe ekblad and Bennett are the first two to be picked, and they can't take Reinhart as he's too small/ similar to RNH.
If it came to a choice between Bennett and draisaitl, I think they chose Bennett. They only choose draisaitl if it's a choice between him and Reinhart.

Went with Draisaitl because he fills a need for them. Wouldn't be surprised if they went with Bennett though.

Reinhart's 6'1" and 185 lbs. That's the same weight Monahan was when he was drafted. He isn't that small and should get bigger.

So I'm guessing landslide for Bennett for Calgary's pick tomorrow.

I think a lot of this vote imbalance is wishful thinking.

HF poll a month ago was the opposite, Sam won easily. You have to wonder what this poll would look like if Calgary was picking later in the draft. In the end we'll get a high ceiling prospect no matter who Edmonton selects. As long as our developement system is as good as we all hope, we should end up with the better player. Picked Bennett for Edmonton on this one, think the scouting staff up north overrules the ones concerned about size in the end.

Yeah the way I see it - is it comes down to whether or not Bennett goes or Reinhart goes - if Reinhart is the player still available at #3 I think the Oil pass on him. But if Bennett is there they don't.

I still think it will go Ekblad-Bennett-Draisaitl-Reinhart.

I had picked Bennett for #2, and am going to stick with Draisaitl @ #3.

That's the way I see it also. I also think there is a chance that the flames trade up to #2 to take Bennett.

Do you guys really think they're going to pass on the 6'2 >210lb center for the 6'0 175lb one? Don't they already have a few guys of that size down the middle? I don't see them being that redundant. As great as Bennett is (and may be the best of the draft), Edmonton will hold stature above BPA.

But Draisaitl isn't physical by any means.

Bennett is everything the Oilers are not. Outside of Ekblad, he's exactly what they need.

It's hard to say who I think they'll pick as the oilers are idiots. Knowing them, they'll go right out if left field and pick someone in the 7-10 range.
