I don't think I would want to play rec hockey vs a team with Kipper (or any NHL goalie) in nets. If he is playing forward or D that is a different story.

I would imagine that retired goalies stop playing goal because they've pretty much conditioned themselves mentally to want to stop every puck. Giving up goals, especially ones that used to be easy stops, probably gets on their nerves way too much. That, or they feel too responsible of their teams success.
Much more relaxing to play another position.

I wonder if he still uses goalie skates while he's lumbering down the wing?

Can't say I blame them. Obviously if you are playing rec league you are letting your game shape relax coupled with less than NHL quality Dmen. It would be nerving to constantly have Joe Wannabees bragging about the goal they scored on you.

Rumor has it that kipper sightings are frequent at Stockmans lounge in Heritage Pointe. Fanboys not allowed.

That's exactly why Kipper plays forward for his rec team now. He didn't score a single goal all year but was always smiling and his chirping is second to none!

Definitely fake. I can't believe people are that naive that Kipper would make a twitter account lol.

Relatively minor news, so no new thread.
Finnish hockey association informed today that Kipper will be joining the U-20 coaching staff.

I heard he played net for a few games for a terrible team and didn't let in any goals. Heard this second hand from someone I played hockey with.
And that he has a wicked shot.
