Talking about time change, bigger ice.

His role started as 13 forward and how to adjust to playing so much with Calgary and now only playing 8 - 10 minutes a game

Monahan

-It's been a lot of fun with Team Canada
-It's a good group, lots of youngsters and a fun atmosphere
-It's been pretty easy adjustment to new teammates
-Time change and sleeping patterns and the ice surface but hockey is hockey
-Mentioned U18's in Czech Republic says it's been a tougher adjustment (well yeah buddy you just went through a whole NHL season) this time overseas
-Game rituals need adjustment too
-Mentions he's been doing a bit of everything on the ice and it's different because he's being relied on a lot less consistently than in Calgary
-Big ice = more puck possession and more time to work
-After loss to France says it was a wakeup call
-As a group we regrouped (@boringmonahan worthy there)
-Finland will be a challenge (except Finns have been playing like crap)

EDIT: Yeah ad-blocking plugin breaks it.

Anytime I go to Edmonton I love listening to fan960 on the way. Signal somehow stays strong all the way.

Treliving

talked to Tippett today about Monahan - so mature beyond his years
thought Monahan-Schiefle-Ward was the most dominant line
think's the sky is the limit with Monahan
thinks the game at such a high level separates Monahan from his peers

Gaudreau - for what him to go and do what he has done, is absolutely exciting
dominant player
has done things in this tournament that very few has done at that age
thinks he has a special skill set, but has to be patient with players
fine to be excited but have to realize there is a process. and Johnny is at the start of the process
cautions that once we get to training camp it will be a new process and we will go day by day
want to give him room to grow
hearing comments from the USA hockey about off ice stuff has exceeded expectations as well and Gaudreau has shown a lot of maturity

Baertschi - rib injury, nothing that will preclude him from training camp
this isn't a step back or anything fatal to his career
should have lot of summer left to do the off season work he needs to do
has a special skill set
it clicks for some players at 18/19, some at 20/21 some later
has a big summer ahead of him and has confidence he will do the necessary work

Backlund - took as big a step as anyone on this team last season
with Sweden looked upon as a player responsible for wins and loses... a leader for that team - a real big development step

next steps - still trying to figure out what they have in the organization
-off ice personal is equally important as the on ice personal
-looking at additions to front office
-had some meetings with Hartley

Treliving basically hinting that Johnny isn't a lock to start the season with the big club and may indeed start the season in the AHL. I think he worded it properly as well.......very exciting to watch JG, he's been dominant at times at the Worlds, but it's still a process and JG is very early into that process.

Treliving - Expects Baertschi to be ready by training camp, says he is excited to have him

Thinks Backlund has taken a big step on and off the ice, he is a leader.

I hope we get a 4 year contract at least for Backlund next time around. I want him to be Flame for his whole career. Even if his point production doesn't rise or dips a little, the guy just loves being a Flame and I love having him on our team.

I've noticed this in multiple interviews with Treliving now and it's pissing me off:

TURN OFF YOUR PHONE NOISES WHEN YOU'RE BEING INTERVIEWED

You inadvertently keep making me think I have new emails or texts!

How will people know I have a fancy iPhone when it's tucked in my pocket then?
