I drink bottled water in the house simply cause I have this massive thing with soap res in my glasses and I swear I can taste the soap in the water if I drink from the tap. Although I usually refill a bottle a couple times with tap water before I grab a new one. Mainly dependent on if the bottle is near me when I'm thirsty.

I have the same problem. I just give the glass a rinse first and I don't taste it.

I thought there was a study done showing re-filling Those bottles was unsanitary

I hate the taste of tap water, but I do enjoy my refrigerator's built in carbon filtered water. Not sure if it filters out something, or the it's the perfect temp right out of the tap. Really hooked on it. I do admit I have a flat of bottled water on hand for when I go out and want a water on the go, but the flat I just bought is about 6-9 months old so this is pretty in frequent. Plus I make sure to blue bin my empty.

Even for my one flat a year, I doubt I would ever buy box water. It wouldn't even fit in a cup holder. That kind of defeats the purpose just a bit. Plus as been shown in this thread it's not even better for the environment, and is more expensive.

Bit of a fail in my books.

It allows chlorine and other chemicals to evaporate off. The best part is that it ends up tasting better. Give it a try

I drink tap water, always have, always will. Paying for water is just wrong. And with summer coming up...I'm looking forward to working in the yard and drinking right from the garden hose. Tastes great!

My first UofC econ prof Tracey used to say "anyone who pays for bottled water has no business complaining about the price of gas."

Can't say I disagree.

That's the guy that was a fan of parking a rental car illegally if you were wealthy enough, because it maximized utility! Right?

Wow. Fascinating thread here, folks.

I buy a 24-pack of water every week and drink 2-3 bottles a day. I should actually be drinking more, but that's probably a discussion for a different thread. I also toss the empties in a bin in the closet and let my cleaning lady take them home with her every week.

Anyway... neat cartons. I might try one out. In the meantime, enjoy yourselves everyone. Seems like y'all are having a blast trying to figure out if people are losers or not. Good times, good times.

I would drink the water from the water machine at work, but when I see greasy people refilling their bottle, and touching the part their stupid, dirty, spitty mouth was, right to the spigot, I want to punchisize them right in the stomach.

So I just have my own supply of bottled water here. If people weren't such inconsiderate, disgusting pigs, I would gladly use the community water dispenser. These people are like those poorly raised, mouth breathing kids in elementary school, that used to wrap their whole mouth around the water fountain nozzle.

A bit of lemon juice in a carafe of tap water that you refrigerate to just barely above freezing is better than any packaged or filtered water; the lemon entirely overpowers the very slightly chemical taste of the city's water. It does look cloudy though, so when people come over I make sure to say all I have for guests is beer.

I love the little water flavour things you can buy, Mios aren't too bad but there's a bunch of other ones now, it's great because you can moderate the taste as much as you want.

Between that and the insulated water bottle I got that keeps the water ice cold for a day at least I'm happy. Plus the SodaStream.

EDIT: Plus water in a carton just seems so weird, but I can't say why. It'd be like having Coke in a carton. Just strange.

Takes me several hours to fill my bathtub with aqua fina. However, it really pays off when I go to the recycling depot, stand in line for 40 minutes and cash in my empties for $8......

This marketing caters to the myopic slacktivist portion of the population. There are people out there who actually get a momentary shot of moral superiority by "doing their part" with useless garbage like this. This product is offensive.

People who fall for this guff also reuse their towels at hotels because of their guilt upon seeing the brochure with the sad polar bear, the one the hotel puts out solely to save money on laundry costs.

If I was ever in the market for non-tap water, I don't think I would buy a carton of water. Does it pretty much stay in there fridge? I can't imagine hauling that thing around anywhere. The design is too impractical for a water container.

I have only had this happen to me once, when I left a case of water on my balcony to cool off, and forgot about it for 8 hours when it was about 5 below. It was probably the most refreshing thing I have ever drank.
