I remember waking up to the fan960 back in the day and pretty much being forced to change stations because I couldn't stand this guy. His idea of comedy was putting an accent on any sports figure who wasn't north american. I think he did a bit about Vijay Singh with an indian accent. Wow, just brilliant comedy there buddy, how did you ever come up with that.

These always made me laugh and put me in a good mood for the whole day. Still miss Mike Richards in the Mornings, no offense to Boomer, Warrener & Pinder.
Totally....and I didn't like all of Richards stuff but I have to say that Puckluck is the first person I have ever heard rip the Mikka bits.....not criticizing because comedy is for sure subjective.
Even Flames haters I know find this stuff funny.
I'm a Oilers fan and I loved Richards in the morning, even when they were ripping on the Oilers. Good for a cheap laugh in the morning. The Steve Armitage calls were the best, Bob Coles chicks I like, interviews with Crosby while being baby sat by Lemieux, Michelle Wie, Dutchy and Don...
Richards on the fan 960 was the best morning radio the city of Calgary has ever seen hence the top ratings and overall popularity of his show when he was here. Has anyone mentioned his Mike Pinball Clemons impersonations? They were pure gold as well. Good article below on how he pushed the limits;
in the year 2014, with the world changing all around us...Donald Sterling...Michael Sam..etc.etc.etc..
Do we still think Vijay Singh "indian" accents and Michelle Wie "Oh Haro" AREN'T incredibly inappropriate?
Then so is Russell Peters, Aziz Ansari, Lisa Lampanelli, Richard Pryor, and about 50 other comedians I could name. Heck, we might as well take Funny 1060 right off the air, because every 3rd set seems to address racial differences in some way.
There is a giant difference between poking fun at racial differences, and inciting hate, like the two examples you brought up. I certainly wouldn't label Mike Richards as a racist or a bigot. Do you honestly think his Mikka Kipprusoff bits are designed to incite hate against Finns Andrew?
