Yeah the expectations will still be high and the team in decline which is never a good place for a coach to go as you can argue that the team missed the playoffs because they aren't that good more than coaching was an issue.

Lots of options for the Canucks but yeah they probably need to hire a GM first.

Would be a shame as he's a really good coach and I don't see the Sharks being better with a different coach. I guess they could go after Trotz as well lol.

I'm hoping Linden and the new GM try to outsmart everyone and hire the next Dallas Eakins.

He may be a good coach, but he obviously can't get this group over the hump, and it's way easier to replace the coach than to come to terms with the fact that Thornton and Marleau are never going to get it done.

Seems like the Nucks continue to linger where the Flames did for so long in mediocrity. Now comes the wheel of coaches to take a team with a closed window and yet keep tapping on the pane.

I sucks that we dont get to see the circus out of Vancouver anymore, but knowing that torts will be getting paid for quite a while to not coach the Canucks

Tsn will still have a panel. I think they will try and do a hardcore hockey talk type show with their current analysts. I see Torts going back there

Well of course he can't get them over the hump. They are already halfway down the wrong side of it. A brief reprise is always a possibility but there's really nowhere to go but down for that team especially now that goaltending is no longer a strong point. Hard to imagine them making the playoffs next season considering how poorly that lineup matches up with the rest of the division.

Keenan wouldn't even get consideration. They tried the hot-headed coach in Tortorella and had arguably their most embarrassing season in history.

Following the path of the ol' Oilers eh? Nice job Canucks, now all you need is 3 more head coaches and 2 more GM's and you'll be all caught up.

I hope FLA snatches up Trotz right away.

And I hope SJ keeps McLellan.
