Isn't that his natural position that he played in juniors?
I've heard that he used to originally be a LWer... I've also heard he's done a couple of FO's before.. Have no sources, just remember reading that on CP... But he has started to play RW in the juniors as well, so I am assuming he'll stay there.

RW is his most natural position... He'll definitely be a RWer on the Flames – and I wouldn't be shocked to see him there as early as next season.
Speaks volumes that Ward has him playing with Max & Markus. Poirier has obviously earned his trust due to his strong play.
So exciting!!

They started the season with a terrible PK. Just awful. Giving up 2-5 goals (there was a Texas Massacre early in the season) a night.
Then in January/Feb went on almost 40 straight PK's without a goal and completely turned it around.
Now, the PK isn't bad at all and typically we have more chances short-handed then they do on the PP.
Just looked and the Heat are 2nd in the AHL for Home PK (87.3%) and 29th in the AHL for Road PK (71.5%). The road numbers are bad because the struggles early in the season were on the road. There was very little to do to recover from the mess that was happening in November/December.

Biggest threat right now on the Griffins is Teemu Pulkkinen. Small, but quick and very skilled. He put up a ridiculous rookie season. Until the Red Wings give Grand Rapids their players back, he'll be the one to keep in check.

So pumped for this ####in' series! I'm already missing Flames hockey, and this is just the ticket.
By far the best looking farm roster this team has seen in literally years. I remember getting excited to see the debut of guys like Dustin Boyd, Matt Pelech, Mitch Wahl, Greg Nemisz. What an upgrade in talent since then.
Calder Cup Western Quarterfinals Game #1 - Heat vs Griffins - April 25th @ 8p...
For those listening in, it looks like no one won the signed stick contest last week so they might be giving it away tonight.
Listen for the trivia question and tweet @brandon_astle with the answer and #ahlheattrivia you could win. And I don't think you have to be in Abbotsford. I've won something and I am in Calgary.
Also, you should follow Brandon anyway. He is the Heat PBP guy and gives excellent updates on Twitter about the game and team.
Here's a nice visual of the Griffins/Heat matchup:
Good graphic. Thank you for sharing.
This is the first time I've realized that even though St John Flames won the Calder Cup in 2001, it's not considered part of the Heat's history? I always thought that regardless of where a club relocated, the stats and accolades stayed with them, kind of like the NHL does.

How easy is the process of buying a one-game AHL live stream? Specifically, is it possible heavily under the influence? The only chance I'll have to be up for a 4am game is timing it with my return from the bar.

My guess is that your vast experience under said conditions would be an asset...
