i'm not sure where I read that some NHL rinks like Vancouver have microphones along the boards to enhance the sounds of the game.

I always wonder about audio mixing for overall audio. most of us watch the HD feed which has 5.1 audio natively. I wonder if sportsnet either doesn't mix for those channels or for the front 3 either. I know that when I watch the NFL in HD you get ambient noise from the 4 speakers and the commentators from the centre. and then I wonder if proper allowance has been made for those watching with 2.0 audio from their TV.

I agree with this. When you watch a flames game on CBC or TSN it just seems that much louder. Definitely related to SN. FIX it SN.

The jab at you that backfired is good.

I enjoy the part where puckluck is offering to make a bet!

On Sportsnet it says it's 5.1 but I get the same sound out of my surround speakers that I get out of the other speakers. I guess it's just terrible all around and they're either too cheap or too lazy to fix it.
