Entertaining game, at least to me. Things are getting interesting for the Flames, really. Looking forward to next season. Interesting.

It's a nascent form of the same inferiority complex Vancouver fans have in spades, and which Ottawa fans share to a more limited extent. They are the little brother of Canadian NHL teams. No history of success and only marginally relevant at the best of times. They are basically screaming "pay attention to meeeeee!"
But hey, at least nobody from Winnipeg started an epic brawl in the lower bowl this time.

Good game all-around. Flames played hard, and dominated for stretches. Can't fault them tonight. Would have rather have seen the Flames win against the Jets, but at least there is a huge bright-side with the higher draft pick.
As for the Jets fans being annoying - I just think all fans are obnoxious in other buildings. The more of them present, the more 'brave' the punks are. Only a few, and usually they are fairly low-key and more respectful. Canucks, Oilers, Jets, Toronto and Montreal fans are all extremely obnoxious, especially when their teams are winning. Just so many more of them present. I think it works much in the same way around the league.
Also, if Monahan scores a goal against the Nucks, and finishes the season at 23, I vote to change his number next season to 98 (since 99 is retired league-wide). Maybe he will get 98 goals? I am superstitious and silly that way.

FYP. Bullplop none-the-less.
Not only did they mistake Winkler as the attacker... but they also shot the dude they were trying to save from Winkler. Unreal.
Anywho... GFG!

Terrible effort and I almost got into a fight with Jets fans.
Winnipeg can eat a d***. Can't wait for them to move to another garbage American city.

I prefer to think of it like this

Sean Monahan (2013-14) - 27 goals(5SOG ; 2GW, 4GDG) - 19 years old

Dion Phaneuf (2005-06) - 20 goals - 20 years old
Last time a Flames rookie scored 22 goals was 89-90, when Ranheim and Makarov both scored more. Sean Monahan was scored 4 years after that point.

Anyways we got very lucky with the Monahan pick.

It is an insult to his 22 legitimate goals to count that shootout nonsense as equivalent.

If a person is seeking to find insult he/she will find it!
The reason I added the shootout goals is because Monahan seems to score a lot more often than his stats indicate. Also, Monahan is a very clutch player... In fact, he is so clutch that it is getting difficult looking at him as a rookie.

I loved when the girl in the jets jersey went wild when the flames scored jumping up and down

Foolish mortal! Do not look at The Monahan with the naked eye. It will not be so difficult if you use welding goggles.

I was watching the Jets feed when Monahan scored and they were praising him for not taking a one timer but waiting the split second for the goalie to go down. I'm amazed how easy he makes scoring look.

Actually didn't mind the Jets fans tonight except for the occasional loudness. They don't know how to trash talk properly yet.
The Leafs fan when they were here were by far the worst this season.

To compare the different eras I calculated the % of Flames goals each player on this list scored. I added the Flames goals for that year, the percentage, and sorted.
Monahan has had such a great season and makes this Flames fan very optimistic for the future.
