I know there are some lot width minimums that need to be met before you can put a suite over the garage. We figured this out a couple years back when we were looking for such a place for my mom

Front & Rear garage on a new development lot? Won't happen! You are only allowed a certain % of structure compared to your lot. Should you get over that hurdle (which wouldnt happen) you would then have to figure out how to re zone your lot. Again, I can't see it happening in a new development unless you purchased one of the few lots already zoned for it.

When did this change? My sister and her husband have exactly this in Copperfield. Bought the house about 5 years ago.

Cramming more people into these already overcrowded and overbuilt developments? Sounds like a great idea!

Just plug your address into this to see what route and permits you will need to build a secondary suite on your lot.
