They are in no rush to play him and will be letting his injury heal prior to having him suit up. Could play tonight or could be next week. Seems to be no sense of rushing him into the lineup prior to being 100%.

Good for Sven. Should help his shaky confidence a bit, which never hurts.

I would just want clarification on the title of the thread. If someone visited the site for the first time in months they might think Baertschi was tearing it up in the NHL, only to find they were unintentionally trolled.

I also find it a bit puzzling that some other Heat players put up solid performances in that game (mainly Knight's hat trick, plus Ortio & Miller) but the only one mentioned on this board is Baertschi. When the Heat are doing really well it's pretty rare that anything is mentioned on this board, but Sven gets an empty netter, a goal banked in off a defenceman and a couple secondary assists and it's news on the main board. Just sayin.
Seriously? If you don't know where Sven is playing, you aren't much of a Flames fan, and therefore who cares if you are unintentionally trolled, whatever that means.

The fans who know about this team know where Sven is playing, the AHL. They know he magically didn't appear in the NHL game last night.

I love the Sven news here. Also worth nothing the Heat were outshot 48-18 so Ortio was huge too

He won't coast this time at least. With Cammalleri gone in the offseason, that's a huge gaping spot on the LW open. That LW is a top six role too. If that's not the juiciest carrot Hartley can dangle in his face, I dunno what is. Then Gaudreau, providing the world doesn't end, will be there to give him a good run for that spot. I personally think Sven will win out and make the Flames out of camp next season with a fresh attitude, refined game and work ethic. He comes and insta-melds to the identity Hartley has forged into his team because he's had ample time watching the games on TV to see what it did for his teammates in the big club.

Me, I personally want to see Johnny tear the AHL up for a season. I have complete confidence in him to do that. He'll sign an ATO for the Heat just in time for the playoff run. If he didn't taste a championship in the NCAA this year, he gets a shot at the gold in the AHL to ease the sting of loss. It'll give him a chance to forge some headstart chemistry with people he might be playing with in the NHL eventually - Klimchuk, Poirier, Granlund.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to troll. Very sorry my argument came across that way. Not sure my argument deserves the baby gif pile-on response; legitimately felt this thread belonged in the other forum. Was wrong.

It's ok, a simple Vancouver and Edmonton is no good post heals all wounds!

What? You mean to tell me that he didn't suddenly appear in Florida and somehow get 5 points in a 3 goal game?

Sven's first goal was great to watch. You got to see Sven's patience with the puck, instead of rushing a shot, he took a few steps, moved around the goalie, then carefully banked it in off the defensemans skate. This is the type of player we have seen flashes of. It looks like he's starting to get his confidence back.

I usually wake up in a different time zone where the Flames usually play while I'm in bed and asleep overnight. Sometimes emergency call-ups happen just before the game & I miss them too. I usually check CP first to see how the game went & see any Flamed related news (because it's an awesome site and usually very concise & reliable for news).

I would hope you could understand my confusion rather than question my allegiances, accuse me of being less of a fan or just generally treat me like a tool. Internet just being internet I guess.

5 point games are great and all, but I personally don't think it says that much. Gagner got 8 points in an NHL game and I still think he is a crap player.

What I think is more important than his 5 points last night is what Sureloss posted last night in the backburner:

And just opened April with a 5 point game
This is exactly the progression that I wanted to see from Baertschi, and this is exactly why I think Baertschi is 'doing just fine' and progressing well as a prospect.

Any chance you can kindly stop posting?

This was great news regardless of where it was and there are more posts in this short thread about what you think / thought than the topic. We get it. Please stop.
