Beauty goal. Quite the player. Definitely gonna be a big part of the franchise going forward. Congrats to him.

Certainly underrated, given the Flames season.

The guy has a lot to work on, but all that can be taught and learned through the pro game...the exciting part is that his 20 goals are a result of pure ability and offensive instincts that goal scorers have ingrained in them. Also, maturity, it appears, well above his years.

Wherever he is, thanks to Greg Sherman as well.

The thought of a line that consists of Gaudreau/Monahan/Colborne has me excited. Lots of size and strength with Monahan/Colbrone especially if they put in a solid off-season to bulk up here and just a ton of time and space for Gaudreau to manipulate. I think we have a lethal line next year with the rookie and two sophomore's.

I can't wait for training camp this year, it's gonna be crazy competitive to see who gets on the opening day roster. I love the depth that came almost all of the sudden for the Flames here, really fun to see.

Wow, that was the most exuberant celebration I've ever seen from Monahan. He probably reads CP and decided to give us something.

The exaggerated fist pump, the big smile at the bench. That was him sarcastically mocking celebrations. Make no mistake, on the inside he was all business.

Or he's 19 years old just scored his 20th goal in the NHL, and he was excited.

I was going to compare his celebration with Yakupov's and Nugent-Hopkins' 20th goal celebrations, but I couldn't find theirs.

Good lord, it was a joke about his demeanor. You know, the one that's been going around CP for the entire season?

Good to see Monahan hit 20 goals in his first season. 20 goals is a pretty big milestone in the NHL for a rookie.

He has a knack for scoring. Obviously he needs to improve his game but the kid is a teenager still. He has huge potential. Glad he is a flame.

Does anyone know which NHL players have scored 20 goals in a season where they were still 18 when the season started?

Money Hands was still 18, correct?

I love the possible options the Flames are looking at upfront.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Poirier
Klimchuk - Granlund - Baertschi
Bouma - Backlund - Colborne
Reinhart - Knight - Arnold

I haven't given this much thought and it's great it's missing potential pieces like Jankowski, Agostino, Ferland and our 1st rounder from this year (Bennett?).

The Flames have done a good job of putting together a nice collection of talented and hard working forwards.

Yeah, there's a lot of good though, we're still missing the one or two top end guys a team really needs though. This year or next we should get it, hopefully we're in the top two next year and solve it once and for all.
