For real? Gretz, Orr, Howe are obvious, then you get to argue over the fourth. I waffled a bit but I'm voting Rocket.

Personally for me? Yzerman, Sakic (with the benefit of hindsight), Lidstrom are on there, and for the fourth, which is tougher, I'm going Hasek.

I don't know if Howe gets on the list. He played for a long time and has a lot of mystique but I would entertain arguments to remove him for Richard or a goalie. His numbers are a reflection of longevity rather than pure top end skill.

Agree. Howe was an amazing athlete, continuing to play at a high level for so many years, but while he was at his peak, you would have got arguements as to whether he was any better than Richard, Beliveau, or Hull. He was Gretzky's favourite player, and Gretzky's high opinion has probably added to his continued high ratings.
