It's interesting how the bigger metropolitan areas changed the lyrics from "best hometown I know" to "best place I know" because they knew a large segment of their viewers were likely transplants and not born there.

If there was a 21st century version of Hello Calgary, that would probably be more appropriate as well.

Ahh, I miss the old glory days of television. Segments like these and the late night sign-offs when they stopped transmitting were all beautiful.

That was such a well done segment. Friggin Gary - 'I'd fly to the city, talk with the people, get the lay of the land.. come up with that custom 'lyric''
