Well played Hartley, well played.
Vancouver's done. They need to go 12-1-1 to have a chance to make the playoffs, but I like your thinking.

Cammalleri is heating up, team's getting healthier, and the kids are getting more confident... I think the flames could surprise the stars tonight. Just have to watch out for benn and seguinn... Those two have our number for sure.

projected lines: http://flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...id=DL|CGY|home

Would prefer Knight on the 3rd with Byron and Hanowski, but other than that, those look fine.

If the intention of play Joey Mac is to avoid hanging Ortio out to dry, what happens if we give up 3 goals in the first 5 minutes ala the Ducks on Wed? Then will Hartley pull Joey Mac?

I really doubt a professional hockey team plans for failure like that, especially after the comments Burke made the other day. If Joey stinks, he gets pulled and the goal remains to win the game.

Absolutely. If we lose badly everything's on him. JMac gonna take the fall so that the kids won't have their confidence shattered too badly.

I think everyone is putting way too much intrigue into this... Ortio has played 5 games in a row including a back-to-back and no extra days off over the span of 8 days. Makes sense for macdonald to play one of the games this weekend. Makes even more sense for him to play the first one since ortio has not had an extra day off in this stretch. No tanking conspiracy or grudge against macdonald... It's just managing a starting goaltender.

Wow, looking at the lineup makes we wonder how we ever beat Anaheim.

Dallas is making a big push and is my personal dark horse pick for a Cinderella cup run this year. I hope the Flames win but my gut tells me they won't .

Go Flames!

Tim Thomas might be the best trade deadline pick up this year. Dallas would have been completely screwed if they didn't get insurance for Lehtonen but now they can be considered the favourite for the last wild card.
