That makes zero sense.

I have no idea why Dallas would take that little for Robidas.
Maybe these teams weren't patient enough to wait for tomorrow when the bigger mistakes and overpayments are made

Robidas is injured right now, isn't he?

Robidas is not the commodity he used to be. He's less valuable than Chris Phillips for sure.

Mike Heika @MikeHeika
I'm hearing Robidas to Ducks for conditional 4th rounder. It becomes a 3rd if they win two rounds and he plays in 50% of playoff games.

Basically just Penner for Robidas. Penner is more valuable than Robidas, and he is not injured at the moment

I like Robidas' game. I remember he made the All-Star game one year, which scratched some heads, but he's a good defenseman.

Adrian Dater @adater
Couple of Western management people from different teams upset Dallas let Robidas go to Anaheim for a mid-round pick. Would have topped it

If Dallas is trying to make the playoffs, and we have to assume they are based on their position in the standings, and they have no intention of putting him back in their own lineup when he's healthy then dealing him to the best team in the conference can help them in making the post-season if he helps the Ducks beat teams Dallas is vying with and since they don't play Anaheim again this year, he won't come back to haunt them...until at least the first round of the playoffs if they make it. Those GM's crying about willing to pay more probably don't look at it the same way Jim Nill does.

Wow, I remember watching Robidas when he was brought into Team Canada's orientation camp as a potential candidate for the 2010 Olympic team. Looking at his stats, it looks like his game has significantly declined (at least offensively) since then.

Of course, that was the same camp that featured Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, and Regehr all from the Flames, so I guess a lot can change in 4+ years...
