They're probably firing him because he's trying to go full Oiler.

#On March 1st, 2014, LaFontaine resigned from his position with the Sabres, citing irreconcilable differences over the ghastly third jerseys and how to dispose of them.

This is from the Pat Lafontaine Wikipedia page.

I am told this had nothing to with the trade last night.... Nothing to do with Teddy as coach...Far from over and could be real UGLY!

Lol if Nolan gets fired. I guess that's what a couple good games in a row gets you in buffalo

So Barnaby says the issue has nothing to do with Nolan, yet he still expects Nolan will be fired right after LaFontaine?

Barring any last minute efforts at reconciling, it's appears LaFontaine days with #Sabres is over. One source described situation as "ugly"

And for one day. For one, brief, shining moment, the Edmonton Oilers are not the most embarrassing franchise in the NHL.

Your move, Lowe.

I doubt we will hear much about this but I really do wonder what the trigger for all this was?
I can't see it being about the coaching, Lafontaine said himself in the presser the day he was hired that he'd leave that decision up to the new GM.

Logically then one would be lead to believe that he wanted Miller re-signed badly, and when that deal went through yesterday he lost his marbles.

Of course there can be some other totally unrelated reason for him quitting a pretty sweet job.
