A crazy stabbing down at Olympic Plaza today. Scary because it sounds like there is a possibility that this was a random attack done by two people.

Emergency services were called to the downtown plaza just after noon after a man in his mid-30s approached a member of the public seeking medical assistance.

It was understood there were two attackers, Bahl said.

“Descriptions are very vague at this point. We couldn’t get too much more information from the victim because he was starting to go into a state.”

No suspects or motive for the crime had been established, Bahl said.

“Whether this was a random act or not, we can’t determine.”

The more than 60 people being questioned by police after a fatal overnight house party in Breaside, have been released as investigators continue to search for suspects.

The homicide unit has taken over the scene on the 11400 block of Braniff Green SW after two young men were stabbed overnight, one fatally.

The incident occurred around midnight.

Police were initially called by neighbours who were reporting a loud house party.

Duty Insp. Sheldon Scott said when officers arrived they discovered two people, believed to be in their mid to late teens, outside the home with stab wounds.

“The exact number of people who attended the residence isn’t determined at this time, it’s still part of the investigation, we do know that we have approximately in excess of 60 plus people that we had brought back to our police facility to be interviewed,” said Scott.

Though Scott said the witnesses have been cooperative, no suspects have been identified and no weapon or weapons have been recovered.

An autopsy is planned for Monday and police said no further details will be released until that is completed.

This comes as another fatal house party stabbing in the Northwest goes through the courts.

20-year-old University of Calgary student Brett Wiese was stabbed to death in early 2013 as he waited for a cab outside a back to school house party.

One person, who cannot be named as they were 17 years old at the time of the incident, is facing charges and a Calgary judge is currently in the process of hearing witness testimony in the case.

The latest I'm hearing about this one is it was a gang killing. But not a gang killing in the typical sense being that of a gang-on-gang killing.
The gangs description on reddit:

A large group of kids. They call themselves browntown because, well, they're brown. They crash parties, get as many drunk chicks as they can, start a few fights, and in the case of what is likely a more veteran member, kill/stab people. It's a very complex group with people constantly talking #### about others in the group, but they #### this up

This definitely seems to fit the news articles I've read stating that the over 60 witnesses were all cooperating but still no definitive suspect has been identified.

Good! I was thinking that many people and such a small city someone had to have known who did it and was willing to cooperate.

A different part of the city, but there was a stabbing early Sunday morning (Saturday night). Being the victim is the same age I wonder if there is any connection between these two instances.

Insp. Jay Judin said about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, a teen was found at a Petro Canada in the 5200 block of Falsbridge Dr. N.E., suffering stab wounds.
EMS spokesman Adam Loria said the teen suffered “significant traumatic injuries” and was taken to hospital in serious, potentially life threatening condition.
Judin said police believe the teen was stabbed nearby.
“We have information he was involved in an altercation with another male near a Mac’s store, east of the location,” he said.

I suggest that arming all citizens with knives is the happy compromise.
