The peition TU is referencing topped out at 100,000. But it would be silly to think that represented the entirety of the American population that was upset by his views.

The truth is very likely a lot of things mentioned in this thread - His show was both garbage AND a good portion of the American populace doesn't care for a foreigner with different views telling them what's right and wrong.

I absolutely 100% agree with this post.

That said, I was just making fun of the assertion that CP didn't know the population of America.

I understand that Nigerian TV is looking for a new chat show host. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hmm. Morgan has told us for years that his ratings are sky high. So obv he wasn't sacked for that reason. Why else could it be, I wonder?

I liked that he was willing to take a stance and question things, but he undoubtedly crossed the line into being a complete A hole.
Even if you liked what he was saying, you couldn't help but get annoyed by his pompous attitude.

I'm an anti-gun, Arsenal FC fan and even I can't stand Piers Morgan.

Brief history of Piers Morgan

1994, becomes editor of a celebrity section of The Sun newspaper, then gains a reputation for being an overly invasive paparazzi. Then becomes editor of the "News of the World" tabloid. Leaves position after publishing pictures that break the 'Code of Editors' by the Press Complaints Commission.

Becomes editor of The Daily Mirror, forced to apologize on tv after publishing insensitive headlines in regards to a soccer match between Britian and Germany.

In 2000, becomes under investigation for buying allegedly £20 000 worth of shares in a computer company, the day before his paper’s market tips column would give the shares praise for being a safe investment. He then sold them a week later at a massive markup. Got out of punishment because he invested in his wife's name, but two writers in his financial section got fired because of it. Later it was revealed (after the investigation) that he didn't invest £20 000, it was actually £67 000.

2004, fired as editor of the Daily Mirror after he printed front page photos of UK soldiers torturing Iraqis that were then revealed to be faked. he refused to apologize.

At the British Press Awards in 2004, Jeremy Clarkson punched Piers Morgan three times over Morgan's allegations that he was cheating on his wife, and didn't write his newspaper column himself.

In his memoirs, Piers Morgan describes a visit to Number Ten Downing Street, invited by Tony Blair, before Blair was actually elected.

Yup, definite class act.

He's the liberal equivalent of Bill O'Reilly.

He is a complete d bag. I couldn't stand him and it wasn't because he was anti gun. He's just the exact opposite of the republican type that don't want to listen to anyone and think that their own farts smell like roses.

I wish Clarkson punched him a few more times

Hopefully he goes back to America's Got Talent. That show was better with a true heel on the judging panel.

They've been going at each other for years. All started when Morgan alleged Clarkson was cheating on his wife with his producer, then claimed that Clarkson doesn't actually write his newspaper column himself. Then saying his ratings are going down, that he'll get cancelled, that nobody's ever heard of him, back and forth like that.

Clarkson is totally a smug dick in this case, but I sure would be as well. And I'm not even a huge Clarkson fan.

Not really true. Say what you will about Bill, he pulls in huge ratings. Morgan, as evidence from this, is a ratings failure.

As to Piers going, I mean his peak was Alex Jones going off on an insane level rant on his show. Tells you all you need to know.
