Ski Cross isn't in the X-games anymore. The X-games isn't a good indication of if an event is a real sport.
I'm not expecting crashed ice to make the Olympics anytime soon, but it is exciting. It does have it's own world tour this year with 4 events, 2 in Europe and 2 in North America. I do agree it is at least a couple Olympic cycles away from being considered.
Regarding the Course, the Moguls course is made for only 2 events (moguls mens and womens), Until this year the half pipe was made for only snowboard halfpipe. A Crashed Ice course costs $3-5 million to construct. That hardly breaks the bank on an Olympics budget (Source:
