It's believed St.Louis did ask #Lightning 4 trade when left off Canada. I'm told some #NHL clubs not sure if he still feels the same way now

If true, St. Louis is a whiny little bitch.

Obviously highly doubt it's true though.

I can see how it could be a very stressful and demanding task. It was probably a lot easier to focus on it as an assistant GM. Now as a full time guy it probably was a distraction that was tough to ignore while doing an already demanding job. Being an assistant on Detroit where none of your players were going to make the team was a lot different than saying no to your captain and reigning Art Ross winner.

Is this really a huge surprise, being involved with TC plus his own job likely took a large part of his day. The grilling from the press every time he was in Canada would have been exhausting......

He has done the job twice, time to let someone else pilot the ship.

could this be partly due to the stress of the MSL fiasco?

It will likely be Peter Chiarelli stepping in.

This is crap. Either report it or don't. If it's a rumour, it's bull#### until confirmed by someone who knows, on the record. God, Kypreos is a d-bag...

Year left on St.Louis contract.

I would keep him for the playoff run this year and then try to move him to New York in the offseason.

Next year Drouin can replace him as Stamkos set up man.

Have to wonder if there was some prior tension between Yzerman and St.Louis leading up to this. You would have to think as a veteran he probably didn't like the Lecavalier buy out. I just can't see him asking for the trade if the Olympic snub was just a one off thing.

What is kind of interesting that this is coming out now and not during the time from the snub or during the Olympics.

Wonder how many favours were called in to keep it quiet.

Feels more like a mic-dropping move after getting two back-to-back golds.

Yzerman out.
