Do they really have to mention that the IOC President won fencing in 1976 every time they introduce him?
Alright Korea, you're on the clock.

Closing ceremony will be in primetime when people will watch. When you spend $4.3 billion for the rights to the games, you can bet they've done extensive analysis for their scheduling in an attempt to maximize ad revenue.

That and they have to package up the ceremonies up to fit the TV schedule...13 or so minutes were edited from the Opening Ceremonies on NBC (vs about 1 minute on CBC).
That said, there's no reason for it not to be on live and then later in the day again; I am certain CBC will show it again tonight and likely edit it between now and then a little bit to better fit into a TV schedule.

True, but if people watch it now, that's less people watching it tonight when advertisers are willing to pay more. A bit selfish of NBC, but again... $4.3 billion. The advertisers probably literally said they'd pay less for slots during primetime if the ceremony was shown live earlier in the day. And also, Daytona 500.

Well NBC showed the showcase event, Men's Gold medal hockey live. And thank god for that. Mike Emrick is awesome and no Glen Healey. Worked for me.

The Russian anthem is ridiculously long. Also, seeing Viktor Ahn during the anthem was hilarious.

Thanks for posting this! Sadly I have spent the last 3 days moving and cleaning so it's been hard to get online. I missed almost all of the last day's action. Would've hoped for better in the sledding of bobs. It was a great two weeks though!

They sure were. I was disappointed when that weird bear blew out the torch, I fully expected Putin to do a fly by in a Sikorsky and piss on it to extinguish the flame.
